Mrs Oritsejafor's limo

That's CAN president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor's wife coming out of her white stretch limo. Private jets, expensive homes, Limo rides...these men of God are really living the life. They need to start teaching pentecostal evangelism in universities, so more people can come out of the poverty trap. And no, I'm not taking back my words. *tongue out*

  1. If the true meaning of christians means followers of Christ, then these our indigenous pastors are far from it, if you remember in the New Testament, Jesus was not born in an Inn but in a manger(stables corner),2ndly Jesus rejected material wealth and power when he was tempted by the devil.
If true envangelism is not concerned for the state of your soul then I suggest you change church or solely dwell on the word of God.
Seek ye the kingdom of God and everything be added unto you.I rest my case.My opinion
    No insults please.

    2. Who told u Jesus was poor? If he was poor how come he appointed Judas to be a purser (accountant)? Have u ever thought of d fact that Peter said where do we get the money but where do we get enough bread cos he knew d fact that d master was rich enough to buy bread only that there might not be enough bread to go round moreover if u say every other thing shall be added unto them that seek first d kingdom of God and these men of God buy jets with ease, is that not a clear indication that yes the word is working for them and their foreign counterparts. After all Copeland gave out 13 jets (not jeeps o) so kini big deal?

    3. It may surprise u to know that a very high percentage of these so-called pastors have their beginning rooted in juju practice and only use christianity to reach a wider audience and be more socially acceptable.Sort of like the way yemkem and the other herbalists repackage their products in capsules as herbal madicine which's more socially acceptable and reaches a wider audience.

    5. Its not my business where and how these pastors get their money, that is between them and God, but read your bible Jesus was poor he never had material wealth, he was a poor carpenter, he could'nt afford to pay taxes he had to send peter (I think) to get the tax coin from the mouth of a fish. Men of God today have wealth, I'm not judging them but don't try to justify that by saying Jesus was rich He wasn't. The bible is written in plain english, pls read it. His simplicity and humility is the one thing that even non christians admire the most

  9. When members of the church are dealing with serious poverty, their leaders will be living lavishly! I think people should open their eyes and their senses to STOP giving their hard earned money to these people! Go to church to listen to the word of God and worship Him, but keep your money! It is not by force to give your money away! God clearly doesn't need your money!!!!!

  10. Why is it that when musicians buy cars it shows that they are big boys, but when Christ ambassadors buy it everybody starts saying they should remember the poor? Have you guys taken time to ask their church members if they are blessed or not? At Abuja branch of Winners Chapel, over 5000 cars come there on sundays which are owned by members. Please we should always check our facts before we start throwing stones. Keep soaring!

    2. When musicians buy cars it is with their hard earned money. They get signed on, get paid royalties, performance fees, etc the money is theirs. Pastors collect other people's hard earned money (tithes and offerings) which the bible clearly states should be used to feed the poor, clothe the naked, for widows, orphans and for the sick. No basis for comparison. Pastors should not live in poverty but its the unecessary flamboyance that rubs the wrong way in such a poverty stricken land as ours

  13. In this era of Social Media...everyone has someting to say, everyone has a voice
Be it wrong, false, misleading, twisted, ridiculous, abusive, racist, condescending or flat out stupid.
It's time to start preaching social media etiquette and mannerism...
1 Words hurt (whether spoken or typed)...if you won't take it, don't give it
2 The fact that people share a different view about a thing, doesn't make them fools...it's one of what makes us human
3 If you haven't confirmed it, don't forward it
4 Be careful of comments on pictures with people you don't know...even if your friend posted it/was tagged in it
5 Let your words be tender, don't just blurt things out...you may have to swallow them
6 If you claim to be a Born Again Christian, let your online personality be "Born Again" too
7 Above all, social media is one of the things we will give account of...don't think it doesn't concern God

In other words u want to use this list to justify this lust for the worldly things of life. Open a bible sometime and see what it says about being unequally yoked with unbelievers...abegi,pls spare us the bible is supposed to guide our moral compass. Shouldn't a pastor show by example. The only example shown by these ministers is infinite wanton greed and lifestlyes reserved for the largerely opulent oppressive 1%. This is a dead argument.

  25. 2 Corinthians 8:9 (RSV) For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.
I don't think this passage excludes pastors and besides when they ere struggling building the ministry God gave them using their personal income nobody talked now that they are being blessed everyone has something to say. Yes i know this MOG should take caution but who made me their adviser. When i pay tithe i just obey God and if it is used for things not ordained by God, God will sort them out but it will still not make me disobey the word of God in Malachi 3:8-9
Linda you seem biased to pentecostal churches cos i have not seen one post about the accused reverend father for raping kids, or the pope aid being sentenced for giving secret info of the Vatican to the public. Questions like what secret should the Vatican have! In fact the pictures of the Vatican with gold and diamond should not be there at all after all Jesus did not have a horse.
My humble opinion; Christians should stop rubbishing fellow Christians. See our Muslim counterparts, they have different sects with diverse belief but you never hear about their discrepancies in public like ours.

  30. Jesus lived a life of poverty encouraging his followers to be servants among men. The Nigerian Evangelical ministry does the exact opposite with a majority of the leaders living extravagant lifestyles. What makes it worse is that some (Sign Fireman for example) even attempt to justify their lavish lifestyle. (Watch Nigeria's Millionaires Pastors on 4OD)
I blame Nigerians, we encourage this as far as im concerned.

What is your business if they are living the life, since when did you become a judge, u don't even know how much lifes dey have touched. In your own little corner wat have you done to ease the height of poverty in this nation. We nigerians our mindset is so backward that we tend to hide under the canopy of *poverty* without even knowing it. We always talk about giving the poor when we see someone spending their money but have you stoped to tink why would I always want to be at the receiving end, why can't I do something no matter how little instead of waiting for help from the rich. i have taken over from linda for the evening cos i aint gat nuthin better to do and i really think that in the interest of the Kingdom of Heaven and the Lord Jesus Christ, you apologetics need to reason and realise that the Household of God is not an investment bank. The Pastor sowed in the early years and so what. He is already extremely comfortable, well looked after with good cars and lifestyle. Private jet and Limo is just extreme...

Seriously how is this supposed to look to people of other faiths. The Dalai Lama does not know what a pizza is, Can u imagine Ghandi or mother Theresa owning a private Jet or accepting a present of it?

This equates to Jesus aspiring to move into Herod's palace or similar tpe of crib and lifestyle when he "Hammers"...Its not biblical

Trouble is with differentiating luxury from wealth. No one grudges men of God from being wealthy. A plane is a luxury. Maintenance is heavy cost. How won't Pastor AY service such costs with Church funds? When has our big Pastors - Adeboye, Oyedepo etc condemned any corrupt church spender? Let Nigerians know the 'few' church members dat bought plane for Pastor AY! Looters of our economy launder monies at our church altars. Hmmmnn.. Sad indeed. Remember, Cain offering was rejected by God. Have you noticed how penticostals horned on donations? 'Sunday offering, mid week offering, new month, end month, daddy pastor birthday, family day, Prophetic offering etc..we don't need Akpos to work out summation- greed! I work in a bank. In those days of InterContinental, its ertswhile MD would halt a meeting and put all invitees in buses to Camp-for prayers. To what end? Our pastors all claim to be educated, but they won't ask where or how a member keep upping tithes or offerings?

  36. ok seriously.. i get that people are concerned and all.. i dont know about pastor oritsejafor but as of a few others this is what i think.. many of this peole started from nothing.. they where broke with the vision to serve God.. Bishop Oyedepo for one i know paid a very heavy price.. hes old beetle car and other stories of struggles in the beggining. i also know of pastor chris in his school days..now that God is blessing them u r complaining..see, i know of various schemes that some of these preachers have setup to help the needy.. Bishop Oyedepo has the David Oyedepo foundation where he gives..it has different segments.. i know of one of such called i-fund which enables students with bright ideas and invention bring such dreams to reality through funding front his foundation.. and i have witnessed people who have benefited from this foundation.. A man of God most not be poor besides most of them have side businesses.. so please Linda try and research into this..Some men of God have side businesses that they run.. at least this would help prove the source of their income rather than just tear them down as money hungry thieves cos it isn't fair to me. have facts to justify them as thieves before we go about calling them that....

    1. I just believe a pastor can ride in a 2012 range rover. Limousine is too much, next thing now a pastor will soon buy a rolls Royce ghost, that is if they haven't already. A first- class trip is also fine. A private jet is too much, do u knw how much the maintenance of this thing costs? Plus other expenses dt come with it dt am too lazy to type. You have to get a pilot, foreign most likely, pay for parking space at the hanger which is like 2kdols a day or more. Nobody is saying a pastor shouldn't be well to do or very rich. Am just saying, cut down on the too much show of luxury. You are God's servant and you are his voice to us the people of the world. If u can't reject some things of the flesh, then how will you preach to the thieving politicians or fraudsters, drug barons, runs girls. All I hear about these days is prosperity by pastors, when do they now have time to preach about the 2nd coming of the lord? abi Christ is not coming again? What good example r they showing to upcoming pastors?

  37. Olodo the pope lives in luxury, and drives one of the best cars in the world,if u wan criticise by wat Men of God posess then all are guilty, Jesus rode on an ass that has never been ridden before (like a private jet of those days).. JESUS was sent to earth to minister to the poor.. WHY? So they can't be poor again, so y be a man of God and live in poverty? The same tunde bakare's church is worth almost N500million. Abegii

  38. Linda, you are very quick to point accusing finger without realizing that the remaining four are pointing to you. How many girls of your age can hop into a plane and organized a birthday party in London? Oh lest I forget, you deserve it abi?

You are always quick to forward posts about one celebrity or the other whose 'well deserved' fleet of latest cars, houses, brings, babe's etc have been earned but not men that have spent years toiling in God's vineyard.

I assume your Catholic faith makes excuses for all the wealth the Vatican has accumulated over the years also because they've 'earned' it. Just Google the 'wealth of the Vatican read for yourself.

Linda Ikeji!!!!. Don't challenge God and don't be a God's lawyer!!. You can simply stop going to church or stop paying your tithes and offerings. Period.

On the other hand, he who draws closer to God like these men of God must also receive from God. Running a church is not a child's play!!! I am not a Pastor but what happens in church can discourage one from being a servant in church to talk of Pastor.

At the close of church service every sunday you hundreds of people's way back home. Fuel Generator, pay some hired choristers, maintain building, make changes here and there. Pay junior pastors salaries, house rent etc. Some church members are ejected from house and you pay the rent. When you draw closer to these men of God you will cry. I am very close to my Pastor. Sometimes he will take loans from banks to run his programes on air, radio, newspaper etc.

Common people. Stop these criticisms. These blessings you see them with has never been easy. Sometimes 30 days fasting, 7 hours non stop prayers a day, evangelism etc. Why wouldn't God bless them? Nigeria should have seen worst crises or even war without these men of God. Think twice!!!!

  48. Pls dont misinterpret the scriptures, jesus wasn't poor just humble, he fed five thousand men, he had 12 men following whereever and it was never written that he begged for food. Bottomline he suffered so that we wont suffer, it's written that He wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health... One major issue point we shd always put at heart is that we are not in position to judge others, take david as an xample he murdered.committed adultery, had many wives, was convectious and even abused power and yet he was the man after God's heart, a soldier killed saul so as to be praised by david, but david killed him saying it's not in is place to touch an anointed man of God despite the fact that saul was utterly bad at the time. We shd be cautious...

  70. it is so upsetting to see these pastors live highly luxurious lives. The life of luxury in itself is not whats is upsetting it is the fact that they do it so lavishly and openly without shame that makes me very annoyed. As a man/woman of God, I understand doing Gods work you are entitled, for lack of better term, some perks. But a stretch limo and private jet is out right disrespectful to the people are you suppose to lead. You cannot tell me the money used isnt from the congregations tithe and offering--the money did not fall from the sky to their lap or show up from a vision. Its one thing to live a comfortable life where all your basic needs are met, its another thing shit and flush down the hard earned money of your followers. What makes you as a pastor different from the other people in power in Nigeria stealing public funds? NOTHING. Return the limo and buy a nice beamer or benz. Use the remaining money to set up a foundation to support education for women and children. Return the jet, even if it was the church that bought it for you, do an honorable deed, set yourself up for first class on all your flights and use the big chunk left and give back to your people. Im trying not to judge, even though I may already have but the culture of selfishness in Nigeria is sickening. We, all of us are in some way guilty of it. Hey, what do i know--na talk i dey talk

    Luke 19: 29-31
29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

A colt,no one had ever ridden before! Ignorant ITKs here are saying Jesus never rode a plane or a car, when those werent around then, best believe if they were, He would have used the best to make His entrance into Jerusalem.

Why isnt the pope using a donkey then??? The prob is you guys (ignorantly commenting) practice religion but you dont know God. You know how to go to church like Sunday sunday medicine, but have a hard time hearing from God. Nigeria is full of religion but lacking intimacy with God.

Folks should focus on their salvation and not worry about others. Other than this sensationalized journalism, which isnt the woman's limo, Linda ask yourself if you died today, where would you go?? Will the free wigs/weaves, trips, bags, shoes, phones etc take you to heaven? What exactly will your legacy be? Pull the log out of your eyes, and focus on running the race God has placed before you. These same Pastors see many cases of members who come to them revealing their atrocous state of poverty, these ppl come to them with all sorts of needs.
What dO they do? They roam around in unnecessary affluence and opulence just cos they get tax free money to splurg on! God will surely judge them!

  107. Linda thanks for dis post, country ppl let's look at it dis way, It is not abt d poverty level of d congregation or whether its church offerings or tithes spent. Its abt the wanton lust for material things and extreme luxury. Wat sort of example is being set for d future generations? How can such a pastor criticize thieving politicians? They r driving by d same greed. Jesus clearly said in d bible dat it easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle dan for a rich man to enter heaven! Yet every1 wants a private jet!

When you were trekking from VI to Unilag, when you were struggling with this blog, who do you think came to your aid? It's God.

Now that he has rescued you from the shackles of poverty, you don get mouth abi? This your matter is a typical example of God is watching you.Once again Linda,it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Living God!!!

  109. Agree or disagree with Linda, that's your opinion, my wish for Nigerian Christians is that they will look into the bible and discover this Jesus for themselves. Many of these men of God issues can be resolved by simply finding out what the bible says, (and I don't mean interpreting it to suite your opinion, but rather let the holy spirit direct you). Most Nigerian Christian's no longer believe in God, but rather they believe in their pastors. He that works in the vineyard of God must enjoy the fruit of their labor, but lets take a second look at that... What did the bible say again about the first church Pls Read Acts 2 : 42 - 43 and Acts4 32 - 35? What am I trying to say, I don't now if these lifestyle is justified or not but from what my bible tells me, there should not be such 2 extremes in the house of God, it doesn't matter if the rich is the preacher or a member... First commandment love God and the 2nd is much like the first love thy neighbor... Who is they neighbor then if you can go to church with people that can barely afford 3square meals (people living in raw poverty) while others in the same house of God are living extreme flamboyant life? Who are we really deceiving here? I cannot judge anyone, but both members, men of God and general public should use their tongue to count their teeth. No one can take from you what you don't give them. The bible admonishes us in Proverbs 7:4 in all thy getting, get...(fill in the blank peeps)!

Am not a judge nor am I a saint, just another sinner expressing my 2cents so please save your attacks!

No one is saying the pastors should be poor or pretend to be poor, the point is they should be sensitive enogh to live an humble life style. Luxury is not the way of God....I mean people look up to them as role models, how do u preach humility when ur life style is extravagant....I don't get.

  126. Ignorant and illiterate idiots insulting Linda Ikeji, how many times has Linda posted pix of people seriously ill here and needing money to go abroad? So many times and how many of these pastors hve really helped? Is it not musicians and celebrity that come to their rescue? Heaven knows Linda that u have tried in ur own little way to help the poor, a friend of mine died of a whole in the heart, cos she cldnt afford 5million to go for operation, I knw how her family rallied around looking for this money to no avail, even the church cldnt help cos of protocols, the rich ones closed their eyes to d dying, yet a pastor will be celebrating his bday, only one man will buy him a car of 18million, and this pastor will gladly accept these gifts and live the high life. Money stolen from our economy. God is not sleeping ohh, u who collect series of gift from a thief without asking him where the money is coming from is equally a thief. The aftermath of all this sacrilege happening in both the church and all is what is causing this mayhem in Nigeria. We do not know nor worship God in Nigeria, everyone is after their selfish aims. An average Whiteman who dose not even believe in going to church is 10times better than even some of these men of God in Nigeria, yes I said so. Nigeria, a country filled with so many greedy, selfish and corrupt souls yet there ar churches in every nooks and corner. God help Nigeria.

  127. poverty will CONTINUE to kill ignorant people.
WHY SHOULDN'T MEN OF GOD BE PROSPEROUS?
IF SATANIC-WORSHIPERS ARE RICH(90% of celebrates you idolize),WHAT MORE GOD'S CHILDREN?

No I'm not a Pastor but I AM VERY RICH!AND I DON'T FEEL BAD ABOUT IT.
whether you like it or not God wants his children(born again)to be prosperous in all things,so if you say your a christian(born again) and still struggling/envying the rich then something is clearly wrong with YOU. you need the Word to deliver you into your inheritance

  128. The world is over. they will come soon and say, Jesus was made poor so that they can be rich. i'm thinking... i'm going to stop paying my tithe to the Church, i will rather give it to those that need it.

  129. I am really amazed by the way we believed that anything religion is not to touched. What is wrong in what Linda said? You see don't let us we Nigerians believed we worship GOD, what we worship is prosperity. I just want to ask one simple question. How many of this so-called men of GOD have ever establish anything, whether in Naija or outside that is free for suffering masses like an Hospital or health center that will benefit a community? Except schools that even the majority of there members cannot afford to send there children to. PLEASE DONT BE SPREADING THE FEAR THAT THIS "MEN OF GOD" ARE NOT TO BE TALKED ABOUT BECAUSE THEY ARE SPENDING MONEY CONTRIBUTED BY THEIR CONGREGATION. What have they done for flood victims?

  133. @anon, Nov 12,2012 6.39, it's either ur an unsuccessful blogger or u have a personal crush on Linda. Why on earth will you insult someone's family for a mere comment c'mon, you can still make your point without insulting her. Besides, you hide under being ''anonymous'', why don't you show us your identity: name and picture, then we will know you are talking. ''Linda'' has an identity, WHO ARE YOU? Is that what they teach you in your religion? Remember great people today came from a ''poverty stricken background'' and where are they today? Please watch your utterances, not because of the consequences now but in the future.

  134. It's obvious a lot of people commenting here have been brainwashed....how dare you try to justify such nonsense, asking Linda why she does not give to the poor, even if she does not the point is she does not present herself as a representative of God on earth and since these men have they should set good examples and not spend money on frivolous unnecessary things. It's all VANITY....they seriously need to check themselves.

The poor will forever be in our midst.some of these MOG have truly paid the price,so when God blesses them, dont beef.we are supposed to lend to nations and do great exploits for the Lord. Run the race and see God bless you.U can choose btw being poor and being wealthy. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord do His will, pay my tithes, give offerings, bless my pastors,my parents, and the poor, then i will look to God who rewards to increase me.if u have been giving pls dont stop, do not allow agents of darkness talk u out of giving else ur heavens will close. Free men of God, live ur life the way the bible admonishes, then face God on the judgement day and receive ur crown. Stay blessed.

U CAN GO TO ORPHANAGES N PRISONS FOR A START TO VERIFY THE ACTS OF THESE MEN DAT U ALWAYS CASTIGATE.
HOW MANY OF U GAVE TO D BEGGER ON UR STREET TODAY ? IF U CAN'T BE FAITHFUL WIT LITTLE THEN U CAN'T BE FAITHFUL WIT MUCH, DATS WHY SOME OF U WILL ALWAYS BE POOR. NOR BE CURSE.

  139. Nigerians, stop using the name of God in vain. There is not a country, a race or even a tribe in this world that shouts out the name of God more than Nigerians. Nigerians, you pray and curse in the name of God. Heaven or Hell is how you live your life now.

  140. Shame on the so called Christians that are insulting Linda. How does that make you feel? You cannot even have a logical discussion because you are high on religious Opium. However, hear this, money is man's creation it means nothing to God. How your so called self anointed "men of god" can go around deceiving people with your persmission is shocking. Properity does not determine who makes Heaven but genuine love for fellow man is the ultimate religion. How can you love your neighbour and ignore his hunger? Alass people our nation has lost all values. We have become a Sodom and Gomorrah of sorts. Don't worry keep giving and supporting this greed at the expense of the poor which consitutes over 80% of our population. One day the poor will have nothing to eat but the RICH!!!! Your Pastors will fly away in their jets leaving you to roast in a burning nation. We lack the ability to think critically. Common sense has been blinded by don't judge! This religious boom will bust like all things that are not sustainable economics.
