DeleteLinda, dont publish everything you read. There are NO proven negative impacts of Postinor (and birth control) as regards fertility. Don't peddle false information. Postinor two does not affect fertility once use is discontinued. It works when you use it but doesn't hinder subsequent conception. This idea of contraceptives hindering fertility is nothing but an urban myth created by Africans simply because they view sex as a taboo. That said Postnir two should only be used for emergencies and not as a daily form of contraception. Also remember to protect yourself unless you're very well informed about the sexual history of your partner! Cheers.

Postinor 2 does 3 actions: prevents the egg from implanting(being rooted) in the endometrium, increases the movement through the tubes and increases the thickness of the cervical mucus. These measures provide a hostile environment for any foetus to develop. Its only when taken at mid-cycle that it prevents ovulation thereby altering the menstrual cycle. Abeg, If postinor 2 is bad and will lead to barrenness abi na hormonal imbalance they call it these days. Ban it! The most common side effect under this group is delayed menstruation . The pill is going to deregulate the normal physiology of menstrual cycle thereby causing oligomenorrhea..

ReplyDeleteThe outrage following this purported ban simply explains why a lot of people come down with STDs(both diseases & demons) as well as the increased number of ectopic pregnancies as well as the number of people attending fertility clinics!

Chronic STD is the number 1 predisposing factor to ectopic pregnancy & blocked tubes.
The treatment for ectopic most available in 9ja is to cut off the affected tube (if tubal).
So after having sex without condom they resort to Postinor-2 and the likes!
These drugs work by distorting ur hormone levels thereby making the enviroment hostile for both fertilisation and implatation (of the zygote if already formed).
Prolonged distortion of the hormone levels will lead to a more consistent hormone imbalance which can result to infertility!
Pls Pls Pls don't go and buy drugs over the counter in the name of balancing ur hormones when u don't know which one is actually off course! To ascertain that u ll hv to undergo a series of tests @ a particular time in ur cycle!
These tests are quite expensive and worse still relatively few hospitals/Labs offer it!
Ladies is it necessary to pass through all this when you can just abstain from the activity or just insist on condoms!
BTW let's not forget HIV which is all over the place! A lot of big shots go abroad to get their HIV meds, a lot of ladies show up @ far away village hospitals to get thiers!
