Tai Solarin's widow, Sheila Solarin, passes on

Madam Sheila Solarin (Nee Tuer), the wife of Dr Tai Solarin, the educator and author who established the famous Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State, has died. British born Sheila Mary, who was a co-founder of the Mayflower School, died today October 21st 2012 at Babcock University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu. She was 88 years old. Tai Solarin died in 1994 at the age of 71. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

    I remember aw she would pack us on Sunday mornings(only if u are interested) to junior school library to teach us English language.
    I will never forget her.

Morning grill-breakfast-long walk 2 skool-d long walk bk 2 second home(which is d hostel) -afternoon food-Siesta-afternoon prep-dinner-silence hour-night assemble(ex mays suld know wats dat 4)then finally night prep of which SS3 ll do further night prep I SO MUCH LOVE THAT SCHOOL!! We have enough activities ......so many can't start mentioning we dunt ve jnrs or snrs we all one

  40. I remmembered when Abacha died en all of us students were rejoicing en she came to d assemby ground that evening telln us its bad to rejoice in situatn like that even if d prsn was bad. Her words made us sober . Am happy to hav known en experience discipline en d spirit of self reliance she en her husband instilled in me.

    At her 80 she still marks essay for the students.very agile,humble,educative,dedicated,caring,honest,hardworking mama. She is the co founder of the best school in my world......RIP mama, we will forever be grateful to Mayflower.....S/N:17903..RP..2009SET
