How can one man run 16 companies? Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim answered that question in a recent interview:
All we do in my group is acquire and get professionals to run it. What is wrong in that? We are running 16 companies. We are in Insurance, Hotels, Media, Banking, Property, Furniture, Oil and Gas, Aviation. Jimoh at the age of 46 accounts for about 21,000 people working for my group in more than 13 countries. I have British, Americans, Indians, Bulgarians as staff working in my group. My private jet is run by Americans.
I have 8 hotels which makes me the highest hotelier in Nigeria. I run over 2,000 rooms. No be joke! If they don't know how Jimoh Ibrahim is doing all these things, they must come and stay with me for one week.
They wonder how I run these companies? Let them go and read books on how to run a corporation. Let me give you my time table for tomorrow. Lagos to Abuja to attend a board meeting. Leave there to Ghana to attend a meeting with bank of Ghana. I will pass the night in Ghana, from there I fly to Dubai to firm up our new projects there and from there go to London to go meet my family and then come back to Lagos. That's my itinerary for the next three days. So how do you think I run these companies?
I don't know why people are crucifying me over Air Nigeria. Abiola tried Concord Airlines, it didn't work. Igbinedion tried Okada Air, it didn't work for long. Richard Branson who ran this airline dumped it on us and ran away. He left over $300 million debt and ran away. Jimoh Ibrahim picks it up from there and he's making it work and they are shouting my name!

May God almighty continue to punish Jimoh Ibrahim and his family IJN! Imaginge he left my elderly mum and sister stranded in London , after Air Nigeria suddenly got burst. Air Nigeria was still selling tickets until the very month they closed down. They had to buy another one way ticket back to Lagos For two passengers , costing another £1,100. As far as am concerned , Jimoh Ibrahim is a heartless beast! Who cares less of how his so called 21 companies has been detrimental to other people lives. Big shame .

Hmmm, worked for him for 2 years, it was a bad experience, deducted my(our) money every month (50k) with the promise of giving us a car, and still deducts for those still working with him, you get to pay your pension yourself because he wont contribute his portion,you travel and do report from your pocket for the company!!, he wont pay taxes on your behalf yet its deducted, you pay for hix birthday party by force, I can go on and on, he is such....................

You bought the biggest insurance and underwriters companies in Nigeria (NICON and Nig-reinsurance), where are they now, your group cannot even maintain the multi-billion structures that these companies built in Abuja (an eye-sore and all major tenants took off). Nig re-insurance building has 2 elevators but one is reserved for the exclusive use of the "Chairman", even when he is not around.
Please doubting thomases and jimoh's apologists should go to Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja and cry at what that edifice has become; 4 years ago or so, Abuja Le'Meridian was challenging The Hilton for customers but Oga Jimoh took it over and its an eyesore. my family and I used to invite friends for sunday brunch at the hotel but now I can't even wish that place on my enemies.
Shall we talk about Air Nigeria? Maybe we should talk about The Corporate Affairs Commission; where you acted as the Board Chairman and wanted to take over the role of the Registrar General? What happened to your the "brilliant' Havard inspired ideas that you introduced and forced down the throat of the Commission and its staff. Ideas that increased delivery periods from an average of 3 days to 9 days? making people to generate manual receipts for every transaction despite the precence of 2 of the biggest banks in Nigeria there.
