Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke rushed to UK hospital?

That is what SaharaReporters is reporting. According to SR, the Minister for Petroleum Resources has been flown to a UK hospital for medical treatment.

Sources disclosed to SR that Mrs. Madueke’s condition did not require immediate hospitalization, but described it as “potentially serious.” The source, who is a medical doctor, was only willing to divulge that the minister’s diagnosis is for a condition related to abnormal cell development in her body. The doctor declined to disclose if the diagnosis was a form of cancer, but said Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s condition “assumed a dire dimension recently.”

  1. She was not rushed to d hospital! She travelled with her kids who came to nigeria to spend their holidays and used that opportunity to see her doctors for treatment for a pre existing condition! She travelled in a private jet.

  2. When did this happen? I am not sure this is a true story. I still saw her in Anambra State on Friday when the President visited and she looked healthy.

  12. Linda, a word of caution as it seems you now want to rely frequently on Sahara reporters as your stories source, like in the Dame Patience Jonathan's story, which l did not read you presenting the presidency's side of the story denying it.

Stick to doing your investigations to ascertain if their stories you are copying and helping spread is true before you do. It speaks to your credibility........

BTW, if this story is true, that so called doctor source is very unethical and can land in jail for violating this patient's privacy. I don't care what station in life she is, she has every right to have her health information protected by those who care for her.

It is up to her to let who she wants to know what her condition is know, not for some unethical, unprofessional riff-raff "doctor" to leak such information out to the press.

    And before anyone abuses me:

    1) l do not know this woman, her family, friends, or village.
    2) l am a nigerian too, and l do not have a "need to know" her condition unless she disclosed it herself.
    3) She has a right to have her health information protected like you and l.

  33. Its sad for me as an African to read that Nigerian leaders are not ashamed of the fact that they have to leave the country to get adequate health care...they are responsible for the state of public hospitals and if they feel them fit for use by the general Nigerian public then why dont they use them. The state in Nigeria will neevr change unless people unite across tribal lines and face the government with full oposition,I may not be from Nigeria but I love this country to death and the people deserve so much better than this.

If the Government of the countries had not equiped their Hospitals with up to date faclities they wouldn't go go there. I hope this trend continues so that something will be done for our Hospitals. What goes around comes around. Anyways, I wish her well
