Morenike Popoola was kidnapped around 9:30 -10 last night in Amuwo-Odofin on her way home. Her car, a wine-coloured Toyota Corolla Sports car was also taken, but was recovered very early this morning around Kirikiri.

Morenike's abductors contacted her family this morning but made no specific demands, just said they will call back.

    2. Amuwo odofin, Festac, Apapa have become very hot zones this period. Even from the comments, you can see this is true. Now tell me, what ethnic group has the highest percentage of residents in that area? Let me not say anything more before the bashers run in on me.

  7. Nigeria(ns) clearly carry out projects for mare formality. Network/Service providers were on our necks to "register" sim cards for security purposes, hoping it would ensure virtual security. All na wash. Why can't they just trace the call (as we see in Hollywood movies). It baffles me how kidnapping is still a "major" issue in Nigeria. These service providers are just trying to pull plugs and all that. They've so far failed in ensuring virtual security in Nigeria. I don't care if anybody thinks otherwise, but #IHaveSaidMyOwnSha.

  14. Seriously speaking the GSM network providers should be working hand in hand with the police giving them full and quick access to their system to track all dis idiots. All sim cards that are not registered should be blocked , same goes for CDMA network operators.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sim card registration is not the solution to crime in Nigeria. Fake identities are usually used and one person can register as many numbers as possible.

  16. Seriously things are getting out of hand in this country. The government are busy hustling to materialise the 5000 naira note to ease their looting. My peeps please be careful dis ember month. The GSM network providers should give our police direct and speedy access to their networks to track dis idiots. Those that have not registered their sims should have dem blocked same goes for the CDMA network providers.

  18. Kidnapping is a direct consequence of sheer desperation in a society that does not give her citizens hope.As we pray for Morenikes immediate release,we also must start a plan of action as enlightened citizens to stop this abuse of our NationaL resources and corruption by Nigerian politicians.Ppl r unemployed, desperate and have their backs against d wall and it makes it even worse that some of these ppl see the lavish opulent life styles that our politicians live, to d detriment of ordirary citizen frm the proceeds of corruption!
Apart frm greed, kidnapping is a sure sign of I'd rather make it or die trying! End corruption now!

  20. Not like I'm gloating over anything but I remember when people were sounding like kidnapping was the exclusive preserve of South East States. Now it seems the "super-safe" Lagos is no longer that safe anymore abi?

  23. What is all shout for now? Oma ga o, odiegwu o, this this that that. As if you people did not know dat kidnapping is a major issue in nigeria. I'm even happy it has come to your precious lagos. I live in warri and it has been our problem for years. Bad people are everywher in d world but the diff is wat d society does about them. Selfish nigerians- always concerned about theirselves, ethnic group, state, village, religion, denomination. If you refuse to speak up against evil even when it doesn't concern you, you are for evil and evil wil meet you wherever u are. The kidnapped girl wil be recovered unharmed in Jesus name. Amen

  31. @anon 11:12 God bless u, they are sounding like its strange news, what's new? We just pray we don't become victims else u are on your own, law enforcement agents aren't making any attempts to handle †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ situation.
Once someone is kidnapped, †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ family waits for contacts from †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ kidnappers, pay their ransom and get their loved one back.
As for †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ service providers they did †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ registration exercise for nothing it isn't effective, anyone can get a registered sim from †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ recharge card vendors at a higher price.
I pray she comes home safe.

  33. Just my own 2 cents, her husband should be arrested and treated like a prime suspect 1st...Renny got married in 2009 with a baby girl now but due to issues with her hubby is now seperated and has returned to her parents house, she was kidnapped around there

    ReplyDelete
  44. Pls u guys shouldnt heap d blame on d network providers.Have u forgotten that most often, these kidnappers calls there victims' family with the victims' phone. In this case, what u can suggest is for them to be able to work hand in hand with the police so that .5 kilometer redius of the spot they are calling from can be identified.

  57. Sue or whatever you call your name. You call someone dumb when you are really the foolish one. Learn to keep other people’s personal issues private.
Renee’s kidnap has nothing to do with her husband or how would you feel if she told you her Ex-husband has nothing to do with her kidnap.
Thank God you said she has been found at least the poor guy will have rest of mind from wagging tongues like yours.
