  6. This made me shed a few tears..especially when theat lady said .."there is ability in disability".. Our society is yet to develop an inclusive attitude towards disability.. check out our roads and pedestrian bridges, check out the entrances to Government ministries etc.. No attempt has been made to accomodate mobility access for disabled people.. I cried when i read a newspaper article about a disabled guy that had to take okada to the other side of the expressway, just cos he cant use the pedestrian bridges across our highways! Its just plain sad!

  14. May God forgive our leaders, how can good things come to Nigeria, when we don't appreciate our own. How dare they abandon these heroes that made Nigerian Anthem be heard in the London Olympics? Am just so angry with the whole system, where is the Minister for sports? Why won't he make adequate arrangements to give them a befitting welcome? Misplaced priority. If it's dat easy to win a medal, why didn't the first people that went there bring back any medals, abi gold is not gold again because they ar disabled? Am just so angry right now, I hate it when people ar looked down on. Mcheewwwwwwww.

  15. DYKA pls shut the hell up before I shut it up for u, ar u that foolish, did u even hear that they were coming back, abi we should turn to witch and knw that they will be back today? Abi u didn't hear that no adequate arrangement was made to give them a befitting arrival? Mitcheeeeewwww

  16. Minister of sport should be fired. His a big fool

  17. It's a damn shame on the Government of Nigeria, especially the Minister of Sports, the National Sports Commission and all relevant agencies.
It's never too late for their (the athletes) state Governors to recognize and reward them with just a little bit from all the funds they are amassing.
I also hope corporations can sieze this opportunity to offer these worthy champions nice endorsement deals to promote their products/services.
    SMDH.....always embarrassing entity called Nigeria!

  21. @ anonymous ewu 12:23p, so after watching this the only thing u cld say was " ...how many of us went to welcome dem..." lemme nt start insulting u cuz i wont stop. are we members of d NSC?, r did u see Linda's name on d list of officials? U left ur job 2 post mumu comment. Ewu! as we saw u der abi. Shame on these officials and congrats 2 our team. God don make them bigger

  22. This is baaaad! What do u expect 4rm sports officials who went with the so called able people to watch porn. Mschewwww! I think corporate bodies should help us celebrate dis guys. We luv u paralympians

    ReplyDelete
  23. At this point. I give of the so called Nigeria as my Country. They went there to make us proud beyond our expectations and no welcome back treat or even pick-up at least??? It's only God that will bless and reward them. They might be disabled, but are better useful than the Olympics athletes who won nothing and were treated like egg with all the billions of Naira spent. It's so clear....The Government don't believe in the Paralympics athletes and don't care at all. Only God's vengeance that will repay these Government, President and co. I can imagine the filthy excuse they will release to the press about this.

  30. These guys should be celebrated all over the press. Nigerian is also very lazy and doesn't know their role in making a big deal out of things in such a way that it's hard to be ignored. This is such a shame

    ReplyDelete
  31. DYKA u are VERY FOOLISH.........what do u mean by how many of us were at the airport to welcome them...is it not the government that should know their every move, the olympic team that didnt even win grass medal was given a proper welcome talkmore of people that won actual medals....u are part of what is wrong with this countr, and its pushing blame around.

    ReplyDelete
  32. D truth is dat almost all the persons in these high offices are not qualified or do not deserve to be in d sit. This is d highest way to discourage these guys after making their country proud by winning atleast a medal unlike d oda fools with their complete bodies that went and fooled themselves and the country. This country is just one huge SCAM period. Nothing works as its supposed to.

I just grabbed my popcorn and I am watching the new aviation minister to see how she performs at the end of her tenor. I just read an interview she granted Sun newspaper and I still think talk is cheap...

  33. God is watchin u oooo! U dis Minister of sports wat u did is terrible n God will question if u dnt redeem ur name n quickly make up 4 dis rubbish. By the way 2 d team dat went, u made us so proud n we luv u all. We all shud pray n find a way of bein an encouragement 2 any disabled ppl around us, especially those who refuse 2 sit bak n engage in self pity.

  48. ITS A DISGRACE, THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ARE JUST A BUNCH OF CRIMINALS WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYBODY. HOW CAN THEY TREAT THIS INDIVIDUALS LIKE THIS, WITH ALL THEY HAVE ACHIEVED. ON MONDAY IN UK, BOTH ABLE AND DISABLE PEOPLE WERE GIVEN A WELCOME PARADE AROUND TO CELEBRATE WHAT THEY HAVE ACHIEVED AND WHO WAS THERE TO WELCOME THEM, THE PM, MAYOR,HRH ANNE AND OTHER POLITICIANS.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That heartless goodluck Jonathan, who is busy sending diffrent batches of aides to his sick wife in germany but cannot give a proper welcome to heroes who have single handedly acheived this without government support. It is a sin before God to intentionally ignore the needs of the disabled ......... I dont understand why nigerians tolerate all these from a government that robs them of thier own human rights. Even governor Fashola of Lagos State where the paraliympics medalists arrived ( Muritala Mohammed Airport) could not organize a decent welcome or reception to recieve them. This is appalling.......

  50. fa fa fa fail..Shame on dis useless country nigeria...

  51. shame!!!!!! God help our leaders in this country!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Watched them throughout the paralympics and I am so proud of them I don't know if there's a way we ordinary nigerians can do something for them to make them know we the citizens of nigeria appreciate them. Maybe private sectors can step in or something

    ReplyDelete
  56. So proud of them! They are so passionate...especially the first two Chigurls

    ReplyDelete
  57. And ds is appalling, in 9ja, honor is given to the dishonorable and dishonor to d honorable, even our National Honors Awarding system is a Monumental Disaster.......ANGEL FROM THE MARS

  58. ALL of you makin dirty excuses if you guys truly love dem you would find out their arrival time. The sport commission board announced it on NTA news 2days b4 their arrival. We nigerians are full of why's and if.

    ReplyDelete
  59. this country is filled with fucking animals. this nigerian mentality is just too bad; from governors and senators to the street hawker and gateman. this is fucking disgusting. when i have kids in nigeria, i will not train them with this selfish, wicked, greedy, and i-dont care attitude that most nigerians possess.

  60. I wonder wat dat man called goodluk jonathan is still waiting for....... He shld fire both the sports minister and the DG of nigerian sports commission mr patrick ekije..... We luv u guys and wud alwz do..... Na only during elections and campaign na wen goodluk go remember say una dey exist...... Useless govt and country.

  61. This is really bad, they have done Nigeria proud and its not too much to ask of the sporting officials. By the way i am not a nigerian but i think these people must be appreciated, common nigeria some of these athlets have put u on the map by breaking world records and all.

Congratulations to all the participants and do not let this change the way you move forward from here.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Able bodied counterparts ke - we have really come to see that standing on two legs and being able to move around unaided does not necessarily mean able bodied. if our government does not recognize how proud the team nigeria guys to the paralympics have made us, i will say it over and over again that nigerians are proud of all of you.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This is really sad. they have showed us that what able bodied people cannot do, they can do it and this is all our government did to repay them. This just sad.

    ReplyDelete
  68. this is totally wrong...i work at the international airport and i can say with all confidence that they were welcomed in a grand way....they were not stranded at all...only God knows where channels got their story from...it is a big lie....
