Ex- Interior Minister arrested over alleged oil theft

Former Minister of Interior, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho was on Friday arrested over his alleged involvement in the hijack of a vessel said to be carrying suspected stolen petroleum products.

The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Mr. Patrick Akpobolokemi who disclosed the arrest said that the search for the sponsors of these pirates has led to the tracing of the stolen products to Integrated oil and Gas Limited tank farm owned by the Captain Iheanacho.

Akpobolokemi who represented by NIMASA’s Executive Director in charge of maritime labour services and Cabotage Barr. Obi Nwabueze said that the premise of the company has been sealed off pending investigation.

According to him NIMASA has realised that there are the kingpins and the big men who facilitate piracy adding the agency in collaboration with other security operatives will unravel the people behind the sale, purchase and storage of the stolen products.

“You recalled we had cause to parade some pirates here and we did say that we were going to continue to look for those who were behind these pirates because we came to the realisation that behind the facade there are the kingpins and the big men who facilitate piracy.

“So in line with our promise to the Nigerian public, we intensified our search for the big men behind the scene and we are happy to tell you today that we have been able to trace them to a company, a major company integrated oil and gas.

“The products that were stolen from the activities of piracy were conveyed and stored at integrated oil and gas. As we speak we have sealed off the company and we have arrested the top management of the company” Akpobolokemi stated.

  2. I believe that the resurgence of Nigeria into the giant the world is yet to see, has begun. That revolution most desire to be like the 'Rawlings Method' has begun, but as the Almighty has Nigeria as the Apple of His eye, He is directing things such that when the revolution reaches the stage wherein justice is meted out to the wicked in the land, it will be carried out with the finesse and precision of a LASAR cutting out a cancerous tumour and it will not scorch the rest of the land. Today we are seeing the Faruks, the Iheanachos and the Bode Georges loosing their prestige and respect in society. Soon, they will loose their clout and then the law will catch up with them. Soon and very soon, our children will hear a name and ask whoever is bearing it, ' is your father not among the corrupt that tried to wreck this country?' And the answer will be, 'No, I do not bear a relationship with that contemptous name.'

    1. Yes sorry to disappoint u, people will still blame GEJ because he is †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ president of Nigeria, if he isn't as corrupt as this man he would have taken strigent measures to curtail and hopefully eventually eradicate corruption
I know it won't be an easy process but if GEJ means business nothing is impossible he should begin by making a law that any corrupt government official will get †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ death penalty and actually kill 3 or 4 via firing squad, you will whitness a drastic change in this country
No one is gonna be brought to book in typical Nigerian style he will be set free as soon as he wets †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ right hands
