  16. I really am tired of hearing about another Nollywood person being ill. is it lack of nutrition, overindulging in alcohol, or what? This woman is too young for kidney failure.

    Nollywood needs a cleansing!

  29. The no of really ill people that have been put up on LIB quite a high proportion are due to kidney failure and no surprise from what I could dig up..on the causes

    Salt and the kidneys
    1. Kidney Disease

Your body removes unwanted fluid by filtering your blood through your kidney, via osmosis, to draw excess water out of your blood. This requires a balance of sodium and potassium to pull the water across the wall from the bloodstream into a collecting channel in the kidney. A high salt diet will alter this sodium balance, causing the kidneys to have reduced function and remove less water resulting in higher blood pressure. This puts strain on the kidneys and can lead to kidney disease.

A high salt intake has been shown to increase the amount of protein in the urine which is a major risk factor for the decline of kidney function. There is also increasing evidence that a high salt intake may increase deterioration of kidney disease in people already suffering from kidney problems.

Over 3 million people (1-4 people per 1000 people(1)) in the UK are at risk of Chronic Kidney Disease. 3% of the NHS budget is spent treating kidney failures (2) and it is believed that 37,800 adults in the UK are receiving renal replacement therapy. 1,800 kidney replacements are carried out each year with a further 6,909 patients on a waiting list.(3)

    Who is at risk?

People of Black African and South Asian descent are 3-5 times more likely to suffer from kidney failure (requiring dialysis) compared to white Caucasians. South Asian patients with diabetes are 10 times more likely to go on to have kidney failure. High blood pressure also puts the kidney under excess stress leading to deterioration of function.(3)

  35. Ije Kpoms! I hope its not weight loss bruhaha dat got u into dis. My Angel went into serious preaching today for me to stop taking stuff to control my weight after reading this. Mostimes,we just lack self confidence in ourselves as ladies because ur man might have complained at one point abt us being fat. We now want a 'quick action'way out instead of excercise and dieting. I wish her quick recovery. I av also promised myself to start afresh! No more 'quick actions'!

    1. Well you should read up on the disease and it's not her weight loss for some it is hereditary.

  36. @Trinity Jordan, 'I too know' dey worry you. Are you blind or what? Ngozi Nwosu would actually laugh at your comment. She is not Ngozi Ezeonu. Watch more movies in 3D??

I wish one of my favourite actresses a fantastic recovery. Take it easy on slimming. Don't allow 'dem say' to finish you off. The world would be boring if we were all slim and thin.

  37. Linda, i am not here to cirticize Ngozi but to offer my candid advise.. and hopefully save her life... My dad, had the exact same featues last september to december 2012.. to God be the glory we found help.. i have all the details.. if you think her family might be interested.. kindly email me on nnennaamaechi@yahoo.com
I will give you more details.. trust me the dialysis and countless blodd tests with high bp drugs.. is all drama.. nothing spiritual by the way.. just tested n trusted.. though she will need to be on the solutions i will profer for life.. better in a million ways than a kidney transplant.
