Yohan Blake's $500k watch

That would be about 75million in Naira. The second fastest man in the world in a watch designed specifically for him to wear at the Olympic Games by designer Richard Mille. The watch is a diamond encrusted customized sports watch in the green and yellow colours of the Jamaican flag.

But Blake might face some kind of sanction from the International Olympic committee (IOC) for wearing the watch because Richard Mille is not an official Olympic sponsor. Omega is the official watchmaker of the Olympic Games. Athletes are supposed to only wear clothes from sponsors

  14. That's not true. Athletes can wear clothes from other designers, they just can't promote it. Hence the reason Nike is being considered a genius for its neon yellow shoes that most athletes are wearing.

  15. Make a mark in your career and someone will be dashing you stuff worth millions. How is it his fault that he was given a $500k Wwatch; in the same manner, how is it Linda's fault that she wears weaves worth thousands of naira????

  16. if true then that is one over priced watch ...... 500k for a piece of plastic watch . Epic fail

  19. Richard Mille - the king of supersonic pieces. Rafa Nadal wears one on the ATP circuit, Bubba Watson wears one on PGA tour and Felipe Massa wears one on the F1 circuit. Half a mille piece.

  20. Great athlete, love the chemistry and team work between him and Bolt!

It was great publicity for the watch brand but athletes are allowed to wear non-endorsed brands as long as it's in their country flag's colours, so it should be fine.

  22. If he's worked hard to get such an amount to spend on a wrist watch , y blame him ?

    ReplyDelete
  23. It's not his watch. Richard Mille gives athletes the watch to wear for adverts and they return it. Nadal has one too. Blake certainly cannot afford to buy that watch even if he has the money.

  24. Mr blake dont be stupid, invest instead of embrasing waistage. How many rich white folks spend rediculous amount of money on a watch. B this is the fastest way back to poverty estate and i dont think you would like to go back there again. So Be wise
