Paralympics: Nigeria's Adesokan wins 1st gold, breaks World record
Yakubu Adesokan has won the first gold medal for Nigeria in the on-going Paralympic Games in London.
The 33 year-old did it in style by breaking the world record in the men's 48 category by lifting 178 kg, which is over three times his body weight! Go Yakubu!
Thank God. What great news. The first lot just went to enjoy and brought back zero medals. See what determination and focus can achieve. Well done my man. As for the house of rep guy that went to watch porn movies while attending the Olympics in his hotel room, shame on you. No wonder we waste tax payers money. I can see why they need to increase electricity tariff, new license plate , etc. citizens , stand up for your rights and get rid of these useless and rogues house of rep members and others.
U dat r in ur early 20s and late 20s why don't you go and win medal nah! Do u knw wat paralympians go thru? The able parts of their bodies develop at a higher rate than average ppl cos they make use of their able partts and not the whole body like you! Mid-forties my ass!
That's Great.. Kudos to him. At least we got a Medal and Gold for that matter.. He did Nigeria Proud.. Unlike those other yeye athlete that have both arms and legs yet still came home with nothing..SMH Congrats bro..
The guy is one of T.B Joshua group. Am sure Joshua will welcome him with another brand new car this time again. His God never fail and can do all things. I praise Master Jesus for making it possible for you bro YAKUBU congrats.

Congrats to a true Hero, hope the govt compensates him very well in order to encourage others to excel in sporting events. And the govt should forget about investing on losers that have complete hands and feet. More money shd be invested on paralympic athletes where we are sure of medals. Once again we salute you for making us proud.
i rememberd on emmanueltv how TB Joshua prayed for him and sporsoed him to delhi, India for commonwealth of which he won gold medal and now again he won gold medal again. i thank God for his and the man of God gave him car gift........
I dont want someone to call me Ibo tribalist again; but this is where all these northern beggers should be going to, working and winning medals. Oh well ,maybe not their fault, but what are their leaders thinking.
Yakubu Adesokan was a beggar who went to TB Joshua for assistance and then the man in synagogue received him and his likes of both male and females as he promised to give the hopeless once new life.
And so he has been taking care of thousands of PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED persons like that and dwarf by sponsoring them in whatever they do to make it in live. Some are in school and those that cannot go to school he establishes to a great extent. He gave Yakubu brand new care last time and I know he must be very cheerful with him for breaking this world record this time.
Linda, it seems you are not aware that TB Joshua has brought back the Nigerians migrant in Libya as they call on him to help them come back. He then took the matter by himself to act in response to their cry, which they are all back now and also he gave them millions of naira to start a new life to avoid them facing stranded because of their present conditions.
GOD HAS ELEVATED YOU MY BROTHER..YOU PUT IN ALL THE HARD WORK..AND GOD HAS CROWNED YOUR EFFORTS WITH JOY...SHAME ON THE FULL BODIED ATHLETES WHO JUST WENT THERE TO WASTE TIME AND MONEY....
MR SOLOMON OGBA STOP THE SOLICITING, AND HITTING ON OF YOUNG FEMALE ATHLETES, AND YOUR INTIMIDATION TACTICS, AND HELP OUR ATHLETES DO THEIR BEST...
Yakubu & Co are the able bodied people cos they have the ability to win (Gold)!!! Those who dont have the ability to win medals are disabled even if they had 10 arms and legs. Congrats Yakubu.
tanks Adesokun.atleast you've thought us a lesson;its not a bout being complete, its more about being able to compete.Blessing Okhabare and her crew just go disgrace us for London, not to mention the yeye basketball team wey go give another country record wey go take a century to break. make 1200 doing this part-time job even in ur spare time.still recruiting.for more info, hit me up on schineme@ymail.com.you can as well text or call 08135242346 for further enquiries
Maybe we should have a disabled President who can win gold for the Nigerian issue. This president who had no shoe, now has many shoes and cannot perform, let have a feetless/legless person like Yakubu to perform. Really this physically challenged are those who have something to proof.
Thank God Yakubu, na God go reward. At least dem play Nigerian anthem for that place. Thank God, I no know all dem one wet get complete leg and hand, na just yeye dey worry dem, especially useless basket bal player, never been to Nigeria, but played for them.

well done Yakubu! . this goes to show that being disabled does not not mean you are not able in so many other ways. Some Nigerians are so sick @ annonymous 7:24pm ,making allegations that our first and possibly the only Gold medalist is in his forties! So what ! u r such a pessimist who has never achieved such greatness in thier own lives...... despite the terrible state of government funds on sports in Nigeria and particularly on Paraylyimpics and disabled people in general in Nigeria. This young man still made his way to the top,not only by winning a gold medal but also breaking a world record in his chosen sport. It is time we celebrate our own......
