Zambia Excludes Nigeria From Visa Free Countries

Zambia has excluded Nigeria among the African and Commonwealth countries that do not require visa to enter the country.

Ordinarily, Nigerians should obtain Zambian visa at the point of entry into that country but latest development indicate that Zambia authorities have changed their mind on free visa application requirements for Nigerians.

The country said in its website that Nigerian nationals and some others going to Zambia as private/ business visitors or in transit shall apply for visas at Zambian Missions abroad. It however said the nationals who come to Zambia on confirmed Government business could obtain their entry visas at Zambian Missions abroad or points of entry upon production of official invitation letters.

The Minister in charge of Zambia’s Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Given Lubinda told BusinessDay in Lusaka that Nigeria suppose to be in the preference list whose nationals will obtain visa at point of entry. “We will look into it”

Probably aware that Nigeria has been excluded from the free visa requirement until at the point of entry, Lubinda however said it is in the interest of Zambia that more Nigerians visit the country as it is through such visits that bi-lateral trade between both countries can grow. Zambia buys cotton from Nigeria.
It is not clear why friendly Zambia subjected Nigerian nationals among those countries that require visa before entering the country but sources have linked it to security challenges in Nigeria at the moment.

Truth be told Nigerians have no credibility home or abroad.

  28. Two things:

    1. If you have any idea the amount of money other countries are making from Nigerians trying to get away from Nigeria you would not blame Zambia for also trying to cash in on the windfall!

    2. I cant remember what the 2nd thing is!

Nigerian govt will now respond by increasing the amount of maoney Zambians have to pay to for Nigerian visa! How many zambians are coming to Nigeria? How will this solve our problems in this country??

    Clueless, retarded, Nigerian government!

  29. Well done Zambia, I do not blame you whatsoever.. Nigeria is becoming more of a failed state!

Ehm Amazeballs, what kind of theory is that? Zambia and SA are not next to each other. Zambia is north of SA with Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Namibia in between the two countries. What would happen when you got to the borders of these countries? Abi you think it's like the Naija/ Chad/Niger borders that are a desert wasteland which every camel and donkey passes freely?

  38. That tell u the kind of lukworm govt we have. GEJ will dnt tell me he's nt aware of it, bt instead he camp his black ass in aso rock doing absolutly nothing. This is the worst govt in d history of nigeria. Dumb-ass president. Can this insult happen in US? Timid president.

  39. Erm, somebody should please explain to me what Mr/Mrs/Miss Amazeballs is trying to convey in his/her 2nd post.

BTW, Zambia and their Useless Kwacha based economy can like to shove their worthless visa up their poverty-stricken behind! Kmt. Them self wan feel among. Useless country... A burning Nigeria is still 100 times better than a seemingly peaceful Zambia.

  40. Another question we should ask ourselves too is "what is the procedure for zambians coming to Nigeria? If its the same then I see no reason why we should sweat about it its not an issue afterall zambia is a southern african country and from what I gather they need to apply for visa to naija

    ReplyDelete

  45. Africans unite! As a southern african I'm disappointed by the hate & horrible things said about zambia, there is no hope for Africa if people's reactions to having to apply for a visa is so vile & cruel, these are your bros and sisters but you dare not cuss & diss the USA for asking you t pay for visa, the USA that stole your ancestors to be slaves, kmt, be better Africans & realise that visa fees bring income, since Zambia is so "poverty stricken" & Nigeria is so bucksed up then don't complain that they are asking you to spread your wealth by paying a visa fee to enter their own country, I need a visa for non-SADC countries & I am always happy to pay my dues to a Nigerian visa fee, that's my contribution to another African economy & another step coser to unity

  57. Nothing new about this. Most African countries have always required visas from Nigerians. I had to obtain visas to travel to Kenya and Uganda a few years back. We are such hypocrites - Nigeria too requires visas for entry by citizens of most African countries except ECOWAS nationals. No need to abuse Zambia.

  74. I hope no Igbo person is among those crazy Nigerians cursing at Zambia for merely enforcing its laws. FYI, Zambia is one of the countries that recognized Biafra and supported Biafra's cause at the UN and OAU. There are many Igbo people residing and doing business peacefully in Zambia.

  75. To my Zambian brothers and sisters, please accept my apologies for the stupidity of some Nigerians. Not all of us Nigerians are petty, small-minded and frustrated haters. Much love and peace out!
