Nigerian pop star Wizkid was announced winner of the Best International act (Africa) at the BET awards in LA on Sunday July 1, 2012 beating heavy weights Camp Mulla (Kenya), Ice Prince (Nigeria), Lira (South Africa) and Mokobe (Mali).
Wiz and Sarkodie from Ghana came out tops and received a joint award prize in the same category. Congrats to him. Continue to see a photo of Wizkid, Young Jeezy and The Game in a studio in the US

Now my take on this award,can they just break it into pieces and send out to all the nominees in Africa?what's the point flying 24hours to come collect awards in the darkroom?ok they will say They don't know these African's on Tv in America but how are they going to be known if they don't openly give them the award on tv?a lot of artist perform during the awards we don't even know but we watch because our tv is on or attending the show.Now why not nominate this Africans,put up a dope video they did I am sure some Africans in the audience will scream and hell people will clap when they say clap that is what seat fillers are for.This is just double standards and Africans shouldn't accept the fact that they atleast have the nominations no don't,when American artist go to Africa,people look at them,watch them not because they know them but because they will find out about them thus the internet era we live in.Africans,stand your damn ground,this awards don't come with money,bet awards aint shit any1 can attend what's the point in winning an award and jay z and beyonce and co who could have seen your video or seen/heard you and signed you didn't?During the oscars,international films we will never and have never seen win,the winners come get the price don't they?

What is the essence of creating the category…Best International Artiste (Africa) if they will not be recognised or share the same stage with other winners? Please, let us start the mobilisation from here…BET Award is fraud, it promotes segregation and should be treated as such. Our artistes should ignore or boycot next edition if there is no assurance of giving African artistes the recognition they deserve.
