Rivers State Governor gives cars, cash to Dolphin & Rivers Angels

River State Governor Rotimi Amaechi yesterday Monday July 9th gave money and cars to NPL champions - Dolphin and the women’s cup holders, Rivers Angels.

Each player of Dolphin got a Nissan Sunny car and N500,000, while the coaches got one million Naira each with a car. The Rivers Angels, who won the female FA Cup last season, each got a Ford car and N500,000.

The reward, according to the Governor, is to reward the teams for their hard work so far and encourage them to push harder to retain their title this season.

  1. So I'm gussing rivers state is higly developed ?? Aaww I can't wait to visit it.. U mean to tell me the whole place would beat london's development?? Chooii cannot wait oo ..see money so I guess developing the whole state is not a problem at all and it has already been developed .. I hail amaechi and his logical thinking, very rational man..

    3. Omg I'm happy not all nigerians living in nigeria would sit down and think this is the greatest deed! Thankyou hun I'm just furious at how the system works in nigeria.. Ohh I cannot wait to come down and serve!! Nigeria will be rubbing shoulders with America. But I know I would get killed in the process because those looters hate anything good for their country, which I find absurd! Ahh I can only dream about how I would transform my country .. But who knows! As an 18year old (diaspora if u may) I just think its high time my generation helps nigeria ..

    4. Polymat I am slightly confused. What do u mean by u don't have to have it all? U mean to tell me development is not that important ?? I mean I need to start rethinking . Maybe I should not blame the looters siince u clearly love ur governments current half and half infrastruture.. He should appreciate the whole state first, I mean unless rivers state is highly developed.. Which leads us back to the point... I'm only saying all this because I'm in constant dialogue with people from developed countries that cannot fathom why an oil producing country is in the state it is in.. If u nigerians living in nigeria know ur must have's u will understand me better...

    1. Really?? I love u though but naahh not in nigeria man!! I guarantee u that state is filled with starving children and women! He should channel all the money towards the development of rivers state: good roads, 24/7electricity, ambulance unit, excellent hospital facilities, schools and universities... The list is endless !! These things maxi nwa nnem would have an everlasting impact on the state and would be very beneficial.. So babe naaahh this is just pure illiteracy

  5. That's my Gov, its good to motivate people, he tried all you haters Rivers state is developing daily and U̶̲̥̅̊ can't feed everyone no matter how hard U̶̲̥̅̊ try. If Nigerian smart kids, footballers etc were motivated like this by Govenors and president the country would be better. Thumbs up Ph 1st Son. Proudly Rivers

  10. How many cars did the UK government give to chelsea players for winning the Champions league and the FA cup? How many cars did Man city players get from their government for winning the EPL. IF that's the case, all Barcelona player by now will have like 10 cars each.

Rubbish this is just insensitivity of the highest order. They are just looking for a way to steal money, for those of you praising Governor Amaechi, you guys should first of all ask him how much he bought those cars and believe me he must have budgeted like 10m each for one car when you knw that that is not the market price of Nissan Sunny. Never trust Nigerian politicians

  11. Pls develop your state first, create employment and solve the needs of ur people then this can follow.

  12. This is crazy.....Why does a governor think the state's money is his to spend.

A reception at his house is fine but which one is dashing them money and car?

Does he do the same for scholars, for people that excel in other areas.

Misplaced priorities is naijas problem. And its sad that in naija pple have so low expectations that they glorify any and every move that involves giving

  13. very ridiculous..the governor should not spend the money of the people..the people should buy their own cars if they really want to
