Bomb discovered and defused at a hotel in Ikeja this morning

What the anti-bomb squad brought out from the hotel this morning, the black bag with the pillow
Got quite a number of calls from people around the area this morning about a bomb that was allegedly discovered in a hotel in Ikeja. According to eyewitnesses, a bomb was found in a room at Reliance Hotel located on Emina Crescent off Amore Crescent, off Toyin street, Ikeja.

The hotel shares same fence with St Leo Catholic Church and is directly opposite Assemblies of God church. According to hotel sources, three guys slept in the hotel last night and checked out this morning. Housekeeper went to clean the room and discovered the 'surprise'. The hotel alerted the anti-bomb squad. The streets surrounding the area was cordoned off for hours as the anti-bomb squad worked to defuse the bomb. When they did, they brought the bomb out with a pillow and left it on the streets for a few minutes, then left with it in their blue vehicle. A LIB reader took that photo and sent to me. Hopefully the police will say something about this incident.

  10. Na so we see am today for off Toyin o.It happened live and direct.I only wish the hotel had CCTV cameras at the very least so the authorities could have leads to follow. With two big churches near the scene...we can all imagine what the impact could have been.

  12. this is actually a call to vigilance on the hospitality industries and other recreational spot. there should be a thorough check of luggage and personal effects of persons patronizing any of these establishments and it must be a mandatory. am sure sensible, reasonable and security conscious nigerians who dont appreciate premature death will oblige to this when its required of them in such places. may God protect us from these vampires...Amen!

  16. Madam, there's a difference between defusing a bomb and detonating a bomb. To detonate is to cause to explode and u have used both words in this write up. Which one should we believe now

  19. What's the sudden fuss about bombs? Why are these things happening all of a sudden? A thousand may fall dead beside us but we'll look and see how the wicked are punished. God in his time will make everything perfect. As for the killers... Judgement awaits you, be prepared.

  23. Well the Only Option is for the country to split, cause we should not have been put together in the first place.
I know quite some people will think i am talking nonsense but the truth is that a certain section cannot stand the fact that a Minority Man is at the helm of affairs cause they feel it is their birth right. So in order to vent their anger they play the religious and ethnic card in the anticipation it will disorganize the present government forgetting that it has the ability to split the country. Of which if we split they will loose tremendously. Well its rather unfortunate cause i think it is until when the child or children of a great leader from the south is bombed in this BH quest that is when the call for the split will intensify.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @NEPA please go to your dictionary and check the differences in the meaning of detonate and defuse.

And as for my opinion on the bomb subject, if they could find a bomb in Lagos, then Nigeria is not safe and to be honest with you, in as much as I hate the US butting into other Nation's affairs, this is the time they need to come in to flush these Boko Haram elements.Enough is enough!!I am thinking of coming back to settle in Nigeria but with all these insecurity and incompetent president, what does one do?It is really saddening and heartbreaking.
