50 burnt bodies discovered in pastors house in Jos

Security agents said they discovered the bodies of at least 50 people, mostly women and children, who were burnt to death in the house of a pastor of the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) in Matse village, Riyom LGA of Plateau State. Family members of the victims said the people burnt at the pastor's home were people who ran into the home for safety after fulani herdsmen invaded their village on Saturday morning, killing over 20 people.

The killers followed these people to the church house, set the house ablaze and prevented people from leaving by standing at the exit and shooting at people who came out through the door.

Sometimes I can't believe all this is happening in Nigeria. Tragic news we hear about Rwanda, Somalia, Liberia etc is now happening in Nigeria. Incredibly sad!

  1. All these Fulani herdsmen are tormenting people everywhere. Especially on Lagos-Benin expressway. They should be killed.

  3. Please Linda, let your reporter get his/her headline correct- why must they lump Riyom with Jos??? These are two different places altogether and it gives a very poor perception about Jos- Jos as a city is not as dangerous as people often assume- Lagos is even more dangerous than Jos but everything that happens in Plateau seems to be referred to as Jos. This is incorrect. I think the time has come for Christians to fight back and we must start by arresting Buhari and his cohorts including IBB, Atiku and even the Sultan of Sokoto for their roles in the actrocities being perpetuated by their Fulani cowboys. These murderers must be hunted down and their women slaughtered the way they are killing Christians. Enough is enough

  17. Until the world is rid of religious wickedness and religious intolerance, and religion is wiped off the face of the planet, these things will be what we hear off.

All in the name of hatred. Your religious blindness is the warrant you have signed to bargain your lives in a battle between principalities that have no value for 'your lives'

Until you embrace enlightenment and find love for your fellow man above all else, your toils and struggles will only end up wasted.

Say no to lying pastors who lead you to death and damnation to fill their pockets,
Say NO to imams who lust for violence and find pleasure in the death of the youth because they hate even themselves,
Say no to glass towers that promote materialism.
And say no to being brainwashed.
We are flesh and until we find compassion and see ourselves as part of one body, we will remain blind.
If you refuse then what comes to you will not be your gods doing, but your own.

Be enlightened, there is no darkness in light, nor blindness.

    3. He has not said get rid of religion, in fact, he has spoken like one of the prophets of old in the bible. This is by far one of the most informative and inspirational coments i have read on this blog. Until we tolorate, until we geniunely love and until we seek God and the good of one another and shun religeous technicalities, we will continue to see more evil days. God save Nigeria.

    4. No, he's nt saying u should serve satan, he's saying that you should search your conscience and know what's right. Religion shouldn't be about rivalry, and your conscience never judges u right when you kill. Knowing what is right is not a matter of others opinion, its about what you feel, deep inside you. I'm a Muslim, I listen to people's opinions, and I consult the ultimate judge;MY CONSCIENCE. I am not a terrorist.

  19. My heart is really bleeding. Why are muslims such heartless and wicked people. No conscience whatsoever. Women and children? burnt? these people have no heart and it is everywhere in the world. The most vicious places in the world is wherever muslims are dominant or want to be dominant Sudan, Syria, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, I could go on. Animals. Devil reincarnates. Their day of judgement is coming soon

    ReplyDelete
  20. I can bet it is fellow muslims always quick to blame the govt for doing nothing. Why dont you talk to those evil destructive bastards islamic brothers of yours to stop this madness. Stop killing people. It is wickedness

    ReplyDelete
  21. Linda be careful about ur choice of words. The headline sounds more like the pastor burnt them. We can still do this work and not lose our faith now? Well done!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Insensitivity trumps common sense, the enemy is not the person who's blood is shed or the perpetrators, but the institutions that radicalise those who commit these wicked crimes against humanity.

How much more praying to the air can you do to make people wake up and realize the bloodshed must stop.

Yes, religion is that enemy regardless of what denomination. Wicked men use a magnifying glass to find the cruelest of things and totally bypass the good and compassionate teachings.

You don't need religion to tell you not to destroy lives, but religion is full of examples where vengeance and vendetta are prescribed.

We are in a new age, and the war for the enlightenment of man has begun, so yes rid yourself of religions that tell you blatantly that you are a pawn for unseeing beings (your religious leaders who are charlatans, crooks, perverts and murderers) who thrive or you throwing your lives away for their entertainment.

Get rid of religion and reach your potential without fear, why must you serve anything but 'a purpose'?

Why must you watch your children be indoctrinated? Your daughters raped and killed and your sons become tormented...

So ms. Biko, if you are too weak to serve your own kind, and you believe that what you serve is justified in its barbarism and outdated doctrine, then go on and keep deluding yourself that you are not a slave to your enemy.

  24. Linda, is nigeria a peaceful country? Since when? You're saying news we hear in other countries as if nigeria is heaven. Instead pray for all african countries to find peace. Dont make it sound as if nigeria is special than other african countries.

    ReplyDelete
  25. And stop deflecting blame, Muslims, Jews and Christians serve the same God supposedly, you all just destroy lives in different ways.

The first comment here was 'fulani men....they all should be killed'... That would be a Christian who's also been indoctrinated to disregard lives.

Likely that most of you see it, the evil that has enslaved so many, in each others eyes, when you go to your temples you feel sick and tired and drained. You feel burdened because you are afraid of everything. That is what indoctrination does and if it testers, it turns into violence against those around you....

Religion is not faith...believe in your conscience, your heart and what is within you is the greatest you have. Stop listening to liars who've infiltrated your pulpit with sorcery, mesmerizing you with promises of things they do not believe and can not prove.

In the country of the blind, the one eyed man is king,

open your eyes and step into light and the darkness that threatens you will recede.

  27. Is there a reason these people have firearms in their possession?! When you expect government to take life-changing and legendary actions like a law against (illegal) possession of firearms and such, they'll be focusing on changing the name of a school that still functions with or without a name-change.

I still do have faith though. Maybe not directly on the government, but faith that things will change for the better sooner than later.

  31. Its now seems clearly that Islam has a religious body that has it foundation built on violence hence it still harbour blood tasty monks who brain washed and sponsor others to committe heinous destruction of lives and properties. Obasanjo once said that we are be represented by criminals before you say no for yes and visa vis the fuel subsidy probe bribe scandal hit the news stands. Do you blame Gej? Have you forgotten that this is not military regime? Can you prove that some of the senators especially those from the north do not have a role in these security threat and killings? Are the people heading security and the judicially not aware of the idle words of some front liners that post national security threat and what have they done? An average hausa man could not involve in these atrocious activities but the fulanis and the fulani connections. Remember Gej must act lawfully. Why not the national assembly order for the arrest of those who said they will make nig ungovernable for Gej? Time shall tell.. May God have mercy on us-nigerians.

  32. Those who sit in power bought their way into their positions, they do not care about the men and women who labor and toil, they wish to fill their pockets and lost lives are collateral damage.

They know nothing of your fear because they have thugs ad body guards, they don't know hunger and if they once did they have by now forgotten.

In a nutshell you are alone, but you mustn't be disheartened. That sense of helplessness is a construct. It is your duty as good people to do good regardless of what you see, because in the end that is all that will accounted for.

You need to refuse to allow them to darken your soul and that aura would deflect their shade.

What is happening in world is simple, for the first time we see ourselves clearly, we are looking in a mirror and the image is dire.

In Illuminati its referred to as a Mirror Mask. We are all confront a distorted view of ourselves.

The choice is simple. Do we accept we are mindless beast to be toyed with and used as puppets or do we look beneath the surface and claim our identity, thereby evolving beyond these trivialities.

An ancient force as been in existence for so long, and it has corrupted the impressionable.

Wise teachers of all religions have warned of its presence, causing conflict and discord, and you all are aware of it, your hearts tell you to take everything with a pinch of salt. Listen to it.

You are significant, you matter, you are beyond just a pawn or robot to be programmed, claim back your lives and reject labels of Muslim, Christians etc, you are Human even before you are man or woman, black or white, fat or skinny, gay or straight, young or old, rich or poor.

Let the hate stop, it is not your purpose, that way you will not waste away or be affected by the turbulence at hand.

    Open your eyes.

  37. Apologies for the typos, predictive text....
To the lady panicking about the promotion of disunity...where is the unity that you so fervently want to protect? you're clearly afraid and intolerant yourself. Why hide your head in the sands and deny a house is on fire? Why not confront your fears, instead of hiding behind religious piety as 'the wolves in sheep clothing who decieve you do?'
There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Linda has provided a free forum for discourse and as much as your disjointed Christian views are permissible, so are those that differ from yours. You may not agree, but people are looking for answers.

In a world of 52 fake religions that have led us to this breaking point by making innocent men and women monsters and murderers, I think and believe it is long over due for the wool to be pulled from people's eyes.

I don't love because someone is of the same persuasion as myself, I love irregardless of that.

The Illuminati is not a cult, nor is it a religion or a secret society bent on the destruction of the world, (contrary to the propaganda of those who fear truth) ...just in case that is what has gotten you into a panic.

The illuminati, on the contrary is a force for good, liberating minds from conditioning, paranoia, abuse and fear. We may not be able to right the wrongs already committed, but we will liberated those who are traumatised and work towards a world where such attrocities no longer exist.

Anyone who still holds on to hatred and bloodlust, like the person calling for 'A Gideon like saviour to the fray...' is an enemy of peace, these misguided souls are those who should be considered with caution and care. They should be freed from their mindwash.

Even the Earth is trembling and the heavens are parting, flooding our lands with tears because of our wickedness to each other.

See sense and find that goodness within you. Forgive yourself your humanity and imperfection as we all have our own flaws, don't hide behind a 'mask of religion and allegiances to people who play god', love relentlessly, look to peace and find yourself reborn and renewed.

Do not project darkness, it will consume you. Anger only eats away at your soul.

'Do as thou will' - Not as thou has been told.
