CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi resumes work in chieftancy regalia

On Friday June 9th 2012, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was turbaned the Dan Majen Kano by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, in recognition of his experience, exposure, and good character.

The astute banker resumed work today in his office in Abuja wearing his chieftancy garb. Cute outfit...but how can you work if you can't even see your hands, eh Governor? lol.

  22. Who said he "works?" His EDs and those below them do all the work and he takes the credit. Then he bores us with the polemics. If you are the total boss you can get away with anything!

He's practising the garb for when he becomes Emir of Kano one day.

  24. It is sad that CBN under Lamido Sanusi pursued a personal agenda and parochial interests as predicted in the Vanguard Newspaper (Group Plot takeover of 5 Nigerian Top Banks- Intercontinental,Oceanic, Union,Bank PHB etc)of March 23, 2009 prior to his appointment and in the process created problems for the whole economy. Terrorism, Kidnapping, Unemployment and Poverty to a significant extent has direct linkages with his uncoordinated policies and leadership style. The extravagance, he accused the Erastus,Ibrus and others about is being displayed by him with his numerous trips all over the world with arranged awards. Monetary policy achievement manifests in increased economic activities, curtailed inflation, jobs and poverty reduction etc. All the banks he took over are presently worse off than they were under their new owners despite wasted trillions on failed reorganisations and the sacking of young and vibrant bankers. Must Sanusi destroy the economy for others to enable him become Governor of Kano State or President of Nigeria in 2015? Jonathan do something fast because this economy cannot recover with financial illiterates at the helm.

  35. I don't know what Jonathan is still waiting for before he removes the man from that position. It's obvious that Sanusi is more interested in becoming the Emir, not the position he is currently holding.

You keep that shit in your house and come to the office ready for work. Instead of him thinking about reforming the financial system, he's going about getting crazy titles. This is so so laughable and we can all see the reason why the country's economy is where it is!!

  46. I think there should be a law that makes it compulsory for every one in position of authority to go for mental test periodically. These must include house of rep members and senators. Its only an insane person that could have dressed like this to work. It is only an insane dude that can ask for $3m, collect by 4am and thereafter deny it.
Pls, kindly include this into Nigerian laws.

Honestly, pardon me for being honest, this is not something encouraging at all. When did traditional became the nature of professionalism in a corporate world. Soon, we will have head of corporate institutions wearing pants and calling it tradition

  69. For someone who lost 8 members of staff to a recent plane crash, he went ahead to have a turbaning ceremony and then showed up at work dressed like this? Utter crassness and lack of empathy from one so highly rated. If SLS can do this, then hope is seriously fading for this country.
And as for you Linda, u can only complain about the fact that he can't see his hands? But you were all up in arms about people that went ahead with their wedding after seriously reducing the entire ceremony from 3 days to 2 hours. Shame on you Linda, shame on you.

  73. This guy is very power-hungry, watch out for him! He pretends and covers up with false humility and religiousity. He definitely has a hidden agenda. Giving out hundreds of millions of sums that belong to Nigerians to his people bombed by his own people was just the beginning. Did he bite an eyelid when it happened in Madala?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Naija people will always be fools...How being a governor of CBN will bring about an Islamized Nigeria? How does his regalia affects his working ethics, potentials and ability? Last time, all you were crying over the Islamic bank system introduction that it will never hold but lo and beyond, it is operating very well. Ask yourselves, how has his closing down of other banks affected the economy? No one understands economic appreciation and interraction but comment on issues you have no knowledge of. Should the Ibrus and others be allowed to operate in dirty dealings and succeed while people's money is at risk? Cutting corners is what Nigerians want and when the disaster backfires, you all start crying like monkeys. Abeg make una leave the man with him life. No be una concern. His performance earned him best banker of the year for two consecutive years.

And what sort of leader hounds people for complete professionalism yet wears a traditional attire to work? I'm so sure is someone else tries this, the person will be sacked! Mscheww.
