Bomb blasts and gun battle reported in Damaturu, Yobe State

Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, has come under a siege today following heavy gunfire and bomb blasts as soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force on Operation Restore Order engage suspected Boko Haram fighters in a bloody duel. The gun battle began around 5p.m as JTF troops moved to dislodge the deadly sect from the city.
The fighting is raging mainly in Sabon Pegi and New Jerusalem areas.

One of the battle fronts is near the residence of the state governor, Ibrahim Geidam.
JTF and Boko Haram have been engaged in deadly clashes in Maiduguri, the capital of neighbouring Borno State, for some weeks now. (Punch)

    1. You need to know how security works. The Army can only move in from the intelligence they get from the SSS. They are a 'hammer'.So the shortcoming is more of an intelligence failure that you blame the NSA and the SSS for...

  9. The Politicians and Imams who pressured politicians to start the whole Sharia Law wahala should be called to talk to Boko Haram because they fertilized the soil for Boko Haram to germinate and grow into a monster. Where is the Chief Priest of Sharia, Sani Yerima, ex-governor Zamfara State. Where is Abba Ibrahim, ex-governor of Yobe State? Where is Ali Modu Sheriff? Someone should talk to the Hisbah board (Kano State Sharia police) to help us out on this Boko Haram issue. Boko Haram said they want Sharia law in 13 States in Northern Nigeria, so we need the Sharia implementation people to help talk to the new guys who want theocracy and detest democracy because democracy is a product of Boko and Boko is Haram.

  14. If GEJ by now has not found a way of stopping them, and has not made any serious arrests, then I believe what my friend says everytime. He Is Behind It! He's using them as a cover up for the sacrifices he's making to his stupid blood thirsty god.
