    1. Abegi comot there!the population of illegal immigrants abroad is at least 40% and it consists of africans (not only Nigerians),,asians, afro carribeans etc!
I can't be an illegal but I have come to understand that most of these pple are victims of circumstance, bad advice, victims of fraudulent pple that took money off them to renew their visas or obtain new types of visa and cos they are illegal, they cnt report to the authorities!
Some of them are even better off illegal cos they can do menial jobs to survive abroad but will suffer if they stay put in Nigeria,eg. Haidressers in Peckham and cleaners thAt do early morning!
Don't be deceived, the authorities know how to smoke out illegal immigrants but they knoW that they need them for the system to work.A British person will most likely not do the dirty jobs we do cos the get almost the same in Benefits weekly!
Before you judge people, walk a mile in their shoes!

OMG! anon 11:58, God bless you. i schooled in england and currently work in naija.yes, no light, water, roads etc, but you can work around these things if you are making money (sink a borehole, get an inverter and buy a 4WD). Nothing like being in your own country. if you have visited the nigerian high commission in england and see the number of oyinbos wanting visa, you would appreciate how much good there is in this nation! afterall if you even hawk pure water or sell akara here, person go buy and you can take care of yourself. with minimum wage in england right now, you cant survive. at the mo, there are NO jobs in england so dont be deceived. stay here and make it work!

Im in the US and i will rather be here doing menial jobs than be a banker in Nigeria cos i have been in both situation so i know what im talking about.i will rather be a second class citizen here and make $4k and taxes of $1k dollars everymonth than be #200,000 in naigerian and i dont have to worry about light, security, water just to name a few basic neccesities of life.iv been here for just 2 years and i can tell you categorically that i can afford to wear designer stuff, get a brand new car and pay car note and even buy a house and pay mortgage.im not trying to sugar coat anything but my freezer is Mloaded with food that i cant finish for the next 2month and i even give out food.i really feed bad for Nigeria when i think about how a common man lives, the stress people go thru daily just to earn #18,000 minimum wage and the level of oppression coupled with the fact that you get home from work and you still have to worry about generating ur light,it is pathetic to me.A friend of mine just got back from Nigerian and was said most people in NIgeria look like they have potase in their mouth.

I live in the UK and came home for summer holiday. And I enjoyed it.. To be honest Nigeria is better than UK only if some amendment can be done

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Anon 9:58

I live in the U.K. and Nigerians here always say better to earn peanuts and have peace of mind than earn millions and have high blood pressure.

Most people who earn minimum wage in the U.K. can afford to live in an apartment, pay bills, eat three square meals, dress well etc.

Forget about the high taxes. The question is after all the taxes can you survive do you have peace of mind?

Answer me this, if you earn 300,000 naira a month, can you afford to send your 4 kids to the best schools in nigeria? i think not. Here you can earn less and get quality education for your kids.

What about the NHS? DO you have that in Nigeria? Dont you have to pay through your nose for good health care in nigeria?

What about benefits do you get them in Nigeria? When last did the FGNigeria pay you money because you couldnt get a job because they realize that job creation is their duty.
When last did you get money because you were so ill that you couldnt work?? or is it no work no food in 9JA???

Do your part i.e. recall corrupt governors and officials in Nigeria to make nigeria better and prevent illegals coming over.

  39. lol. i wondered at that too; deporting an American Citizen. who is deporting them? that's got to be very rare.

Anonymous 9:41 thanks for that. most ppl do not understand how UK system works and that Anonymous 9:58 simply sounds bitter.i bet he/she isnt a uk citizen.

i agree that Uk pays too much on tax, compared with naija. but u cant even compare d money they r paid like 250000 naira to 1000 pounds. the economies r not the same. the benefits they offer r not the same. u ve seen what the taxes r used for, right? Naija cannot be on that level. In Uk, u can never die of hunger, as long as u r hardworking. quality of life is better, besides if u have dependants in naija, any small amount of £ u send them, goes a long way! whereas, if u return to naija and Abraham isnt ur godfather, ur chances of getting a job on merit r very slim. if it aint "dont apply if u r more than 22 years", its "don't apply if u don't hv a 2.1" . in Uk , u gonna find loads of decent office jobs without any degree at all!! In a nutshell, we can't really compare both eceomies.

Naija social life is fantastic, and yeah, u can never spend all u make.. u get to save more and actually enjoy it... but thats if u can get a job or ur family is bouyant

Notice that those that bitch about UK r always those who aint citizens/ visas expired.
each person overstaying depends on their circumstances but is always a no-no from me. they get no sympathy from me. I am never gonna understand that 'overstaying' thing. there is absolutely no reason why a person should overstay... then get deported? God forbid!!

Before you talk of sending someone doe in the UK (maybe 2 Euros or 5 dollars wey ur grandpapa leave for u before he die) how many hungry Nigerians have you assisted? Let's put that to a test now shall we.... Can we have your REAL name on here? And by Friday, if you comment here, I'll reply you with your full details.

  58. I don't get why those of you in naija always sound so aggressive and bent on proving a false point that you live better than everyone else....then again that's Nigeria. I am happy in the UK, I have finished my house in naija, I own plots of lands as well in naija and also own property in the UK, I have only just started sef. And I have not duped or been aggressive to anyone to earn money. I live with my family in a nice area that is like lekki and have got great neighbours, never been robbed once, was robbed at gun point on 3 occasions in naija, was almost kidnapped 3 times in naija, was almost rapped 4 times in naija cos the law does not support women. God saw me through all that. Do you think that is a standard way of living? Thinking armed robbers are okay as the are there for their own share. You people walk all over the poor, you never spear a thought for people that don't have cos you are too busy trying to con people and companies out of money, Linda are you being selective with the comments you post? Please post this cos nigerians in naija are such arrogant people.....shioooo.

    1. People who live in Nigeria only get defensive when those who live outside talk smack about Nigeria like they're not a part of it. Think about it reasonably. Its only natural.

  62. On the other page, most of u r blaming d obodo footballer for spending his hard earned money, d way he wants it. most of u r of d opion he shouldn't have been extravagant. Now, on this page, same bunch of ppl r blaming ppl for wanting to leave nigeria??? d same place u have no security even with all ur money? plane crash, kidnapping, robbers, constant bombing, no jobs, no justice without money, basic ammentities not affordable to d basic man, etc... there r lots of things. I do not blame anyone for wanting a better life, if naija were fantastic, they wouln't want out. How many british and americans clamour to live in naija? it is bc their system works! naija is a failed one. until something is done about it...

Anyone can live whereve, as long as it makes u happy, who cares?
The one i have issues with is people that have never lived and worked in d UK without restrictions, making all the noise. naija isn't better, overall, even though it has its advantages. Most people in naija will also leave if they had d opportunity. But don't overstay ur welcome, please :D

  63. @anomymous 9:58. U call someone livin outside naija 2nd class citizen. Ask ur self this are u a 1st class citizen in naija? Do u have rights that u can enforce. Can u argue wiv a policeman in naija? If u wer probably granted visa u would ova stay too. U talkin u live large in naija with 250,000 naira. U spend all on diesel for gen, repair of car at mechanic, ridiculous xpensive price for foreign goods. The problem is not the people that leave naija to over stay abroad. If naija govt cared and catered for its citizens that won't happen. Ur not better than them everyone has a right to make a choice on how e wants to live in this world. Ask ur self if u had opportunity to live abroad will u not jump on it.

  64. 1 line for you all to ponder about...
What if Dbanj, tiwa, banky, saucekid, Davido, eldee & Don-jazzy remained in the UK/US, what if mike adenuga, tinubu, senator ajimobi etc. remained in the US and never returned... You know wot you'r currently calling standard of living is actually a standard of suffering to these dudes who suffered the surgeon abroad... Think twice, don't be 2nd class citizen abroad and also a 1st class moron their! #gbam

  65. Na you be moron and you are the same one who would constantly call these people tinubu and co...thieves for stealing naija money to enrich themselves...gbam

  66. ...like seriously, I schooled in the Uk, I'm back in Nigeria and happily married with a good job with Exxon mobil, but right now, i'm working on relocating out of naija.....just anywhere with peace of mind with a decent job(even if yes i'd av to pay more tax) yes i can afford to fuel my gen, get a fantastic house etc but i cant protect myself from Boko Haram.

have u realized there's a blast everyday in the north? do u seriously think it wont get to other parts of the country with a clueless president?smh

i wont wait until that happens b4 i pack my bags....food for thought...

  67. Well,Most Nigerian who suffer from the poverty syndrome would feel that they would rather be embarassed or disgraced instead of leaving london with their pride intact. I hope you realise that you would be barred from that country for some time. If you do not make an effort to make your country better, would it suddenly change overnight? What you are doing is called brain drain! When graduates leave Nigeria to work as cleaners, road sweepers etc. Do not ask your country can do for you, only ask what you cn do for your country, isn't that one of the many mottos that their country operates on? Do not be foolish and compare Nigeria to Britain or America, they are called developed countries for a reason. Just know that people like you are the reason Nigeria isn't progressing and you open your silly mouths to shout boko haram, poor health infrastructure and shit. Answer this; Do you pay your taxes?????? Where do you want the government to gt the money for health infrastructure????? From heaven??? Or where?? Let's be rational and re-evaluate ourselves, we are the only ones who cn change our situation, stop Nagging and complaining and do something!!!! If not,SHUT UP

  69. Eya what a shame you are sooo deluded, I finished from great IFE as an accountant, the married manager at the job interview I went for in nigeria grabbed me from behind telling me he could raise my salary and that was how he played with his employees. I was not dressed inappropriately and even if I was he had no right to do that, told him he could shove his dirty job up his stinking ass. I could not report to anyone......could i?
Left naija for the UK after all that and used my degree to get a decent office job. I took on an ordinary admin job to get to know the system and oyinbos recognise hard work and reward it respectfully, I am now on almost 3 times what I was getting in 8 years. Of course i changed jobs 3 times and there's been no harassment because there is the law. Not everyone is interested in cleaning jobs you know. People without papers don't have much of a choice and would do exploits once they are sorted so don't talk rubbish. Look at the latest, legislature rep. Collection large bribe in dollars from otedola? What's that....people like you will call that hustling....bull shit

    1. No offence meant web evangelist, it just makes my blood boil when I hear the way some proud arrogant nigerians talk, because they are earning 250000 or hustling .....rubbish....no light, no water, kidnapping, bomb blasts, armed robberies, no tarred roads, and the air is sooo polluted because of the dust fromthese untarred roads, do you all know the current mortality age in naija indirectly related to the dust you inhale and the fat diet?.....go and check all the big people that have died recently, how old were they.....while other countries are cleaning up their acts and living up to 100years now, nigerians are eating heavy eba to get fat so that people think they are rich plus the dust they inhale....with no exercise, then dropping dead at unripe ages? It will not be our portion in Jesus name. Bribe nko? All na hustle abi?

  71. after reading all these biased comments: some supporting *NG*, others lambasting *NG* and hailing the UK. The only word that came to my mind is 'Favour'. You can live in *NG* even as bad as the economy is and enjoy a decent life, fend for yourself and even assist the less privileged. You can live in *NG* and the church rat feeds better than you. You can live in the UK and still collect monetary gifts from Nigerians who come visiting cos you're struggling to live a comfortable life. You can live in the UK and you're living so well that you send money to your family in *NG*. If you're in your divine location, I.e whatever country God wants you to be, whether Ghana, Cotonou, *NG*, Uk, the favour of God will overshadow you and you'll prosper even in the midst of trouble.
BOTTOMLINE: its not only about which country is better, its about where you are destined to be for prosperity to locate you.

  76. most nigerians are often the cause of their deportation. i agree nigeria is a harsh survival country, but nigerians should not be going to other countries to break their immigration law. when some of the nigeians who are illegal in uk want to live like the british. some of them drive without a licence and involve themselves in crimes.such as forggery, identity fraud etc. dem forget say oyibo people wicked. all in the aim to send money back home. i am a nigerian british i know what am talking about. its a book if i start..let me just leave it here.
