Naija youth corpers yet to receive monthly allowance since March

Not funny, but it's true! Don't understand what's going on. The federal government have been unable to pay many corpers their monthly N19, 800 allowee since March. Are we really broke like Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala said a while back?

  2. Yes we are broke but we can afford to pay our corpers. I guarantee you, the money for corpers have been allocated but a group of people have opened several bank accounts with their "thieving banker friends" and are siphoning the money into these accounts- win, win for the so called bankers - oh no thieves and the civil servants - the civil servants enrich themselves while the bankers get promoted because of the numerous accounts they brought to the bank and the huge amount of money at the banks disposal for their continued fraud. The only looser is the corper who is far away from home, just graduated from school and the expectations from family is running high. Oh Nigerians, where lies our conscience????

  3. They should pay us o! Its no longer funny. Btw the allowee is meant to be 19,800 but the last 3 months payment were 19,700, atleast for all corpers in Ogun state, I don't know about other states. 100 naira isn't much but when u add together 100 naira of thousands of corpers that's some money, did FG deliberately subtract the 100 naira or is some corrupt person making money off our allowee???

    2. The government is the main cause of the high crime rate in Nigeria. I am sure there are so many corpers that are depending mainly on this monthly allowance because they don't come from wealth or the middle class.

The people of Nigeria should come together and fight against NYSC. It only benefits companies because they do not have pay for labor. I don't know how it helps the government. It's doesn't serve it's purpose anymore. However, Nigerians will only fight when it affects everybody and there is no alternative for them - removal of fuel subsidy. Nigerians are all talk with no action.

  5. Nigeria is broke! We have never experienced as much loot of public funds in this country's history as we have witnessed in this one year of GEJ in office....the govt is looking for every available means to make up hence the fake subsidy removal and some other cut backs here and there.
Just evaluate the region that has the majority seat in his cabinet, and you will see where the wahala is coming from. Smh....its high time we tell ourselves the truth. Naija is not one.

    1. Nigeria may be broke. I see this as a strategy for the government to come up with more means to reposition our economy. They need more money to loot.

Why wouldn't these bastards reduce their salaries and whatever budget they get. The millions of dollars they earn as salaries makes no sense. Yet they do not work. They are busy flying abroad for treatments, etc. may they never return when they leave the country for medical care. Idiots

      Delete
    2. I also this as a means to push the removal of the fuel subsidy agenda forward.

I will not be surprised these lazy and fat bastards are using this to plot more schemes for their personal interests.

  9. What do you expect from a corrupt government where embezzling and looting is legal?

Now that d imminent change of government looms largest either via war or coup, government officials are stealing and stockpiling the loot with reckless abandon so as to fast track their escape and relocate comfortably when Nigeria boils over. There is an ongoing conspiracy between federal govt and some foreign power/s to carve the Niger Delta region out of Nigeria so they deplete resources rapidly to weaken opposition.Nigerians don't want confrontation with govt 4 fear of getting killed meanwhile ironically;we are dying in hundreds daily from the same govt's calculated deficiencies. The question to ask ourselves is no longer if we want to die but how we choose to die...fighting or not??

  12. I'm a corper and before y'all castigate nysc. If you're paid on the 17th of last month isn't it logical to expect payment on the 17th of this month? There's a lag in payment, it has always been that way siince I started service. Anyhoo if by the 17th I don't get my mooolah, then imma raise hell, so let's wait first.

  18. what about the staff of NYSC ? they are so poorly paid , yet their salaries do not come until the next month , the new staff that were recurited in 2010 , have not gotten their travelling allowance , it was said that some powerful people have chopped it .
majority of these corpers dependes on the 19,800 allowee yet our useless government would sit down doing nothing and say they are functioning .
Mr Minister this is for you , get your sorry ass out of the chair stop paying lip service and do something , if you cannot pay then scrap the useless scheme , you just cannot be concerned about what goes on there to the staff and corpers , useless bunch they are ruling the country .
    have said my own oooh

  22. is quiet disheartening cos am also a corper so am feeling 4 my fellow colleagues in other states.I'm serving in Gombe State.I received my april 'alawi' on the 26th of april which shows that d April allocation has been disbursed by the federal government but some state NYSC disgruntled element is just sitting on it

  23. well, the 100 naiara is according to the bank ''transaction charges''...we here in Abuja, my bank takes 250 every month....and wen u guys say Nigeria is broke?..it cant happen cos the top officials dont steal millions again..they take billions...so, if a country is broke, where are d billions being stole coming from?...make dem give another excuse abeg

  24. This is not fair, govt pay us our allowee. They've barred us from working in companies, I'm servin in Gombe which is a hot zone, I receive 5k a month that cannot sustain me now this. Jonathan n his cabinet pls naa. Wetin we do una

  27. honestly i must say thet OBJ's regime was much more better than that of GEJ's, this is just a sign of bad leadership in place.. i can still survive without my allowee becos at my PPA i get paid 25k per month, but what abt those who dont hav any other source of income? cos i heard some of my fellow corps member are servn for free except for the 19,800, and now they want to take that away too??NYSC is just a scheme for scam *gbam...btw we need to pray for nigeria, this whole crisis is getting too much

  28. We can't just work under this condition. We are broke and people are beginning to see us as touts because many of our members now claim "staffs" in public buses and you know how insulting that is. Some of us go to restaurants and eat on credit or we just simply give any available excuse like we forgot our wallets or some other flimsy excuse. Please and please, whether otondo or senior corper, just pass this message on till it gets to one stupid bureaucrat sitting on our money. WE CAN'T TAKE THIS SHIT ANYMORE....Corpers wee (wa)

  32. Jenny-coco, "sign of bad leadership" ke? This is worse! It's a sing of NO leadership at all!

With all the subsidy money they stole the can't even pay corpers. I knew it! I always said when the government wastes all our resources, then they will start digging into our private purse; from wage delays, to increasing tarrif, to tax upgrades. And we just keep taking their crap. That's what gives them the boldness to continue this rubbish.

  56. This is a trick like the fuel subsidy ish....they want to reduce the alawee back to 9800, but they have to make the corpers desperate to manage if they tell them they r broke. Na wash wash.....I just feel sorry for the corpers sha.

For NYSC to withhold our allowance like this is just sheer cruelty. How broke can Nigeria be? If they can no longer afford the scheme they should scrap it.
Afterall the scheme has lost all its essence and value.
