13 killed, 30 houses burnt in fresh attack in Plateau State

About 13 people have so far been killed and over 20 people injured after armed fulani herdsmen invaded six villages in Riyom Local Government area of Plateau State this week.

Many houses were burnt down in the raid that started on Monday night till yesterday morning. The herdsmen, who came in large number, attacked the villagers in the middle of the night, shooting people, using machetes on them and burning down their homes. The raid has been going on for two weeks but Tuesday's attack was the deadliest.

Hundreds of displaced residents of the villages have fled their homes to take refuge at police stations and primary schools in Riyom, headquarters of the council area. The villagers are now refugees in their own home and the government does not seem to care. Wow!

  6. So BH is not only their problem? Herdsmen on rampage...

This is what you get when you vote an idiot into power for a second time! Jonah Jang is timid and clueless! How he became Governor a second time will continue to baffle me.

This is a clear case of people being deserving of the kind of Government they get!

    1. BH is bombing places in d north, why can't u call for the sack of the govs in those states?
Truth is the power of the gov is limited on security issues in nigeria. Even if he's a 3rd tem gov, if the heagonomy of the nigerian security outfit is still dominated by the hausa fulanis, we'll continue to hav these sort of problems.

  14. Nigeria is going into extinction.. GEJ keeps reassuring us dat hs government is on top of d game to bring bck sanity into Naija fafafa fowl... D truth is dat GEJ is afraid of launching attack on d perpetrators of ds evil whom he knows very well.. PDP has caused us so much heartaches and lot of deaths of innocent souls... It can never be better as long as we ave multi, diverse ethnic groups who all want power at d same Time... Today, d north is d problem, tomorr it's d south, next is d west and d east... Whc way my pple.. Jang is not supposed to be d governor of plateau? Who then? Why all ds killings? Just bcos u don't have a formidable govt dat will ,match ds killers once arnd for all... 20. ONOME says..........
Which way Nigeria?which way to go?

If it is not boko haram,it's Fulani herdsmen
If it is not kidnapping,it's armed robbery
If it is not accidents,it's houses collapsing
If its not ASUU on strike,it's medical doctors
If it's not state governments stealing money,it's house of Rep

Graduates roaming the streets, power outage, basic amenities unavailable, general insecurity, hospitals not up to scratch, universities a colossal mess, roads and vehicles a death trap, life expectancy suboptimal, religious intolerance everywhere,no respect for human dignity, pastors and politicians above the law, economic divide between the rich and the poor a yawning wide gap, money for development of regions siphoned to private accounts(private jets, mansions in choice locations outside the country, their offspring in choice universities while the poor keep groaning passively and making supplications to their creator)............

Which way Nigeria, which way to go???

  22. Its quite a pity linda and most readers are so bias as regards fulanis killing xtians.havnt u seen the video of xtians in berom roasting and eating the flesh of muslims.you need to c how they kill n steal their cattle n then burn their huts. The thing they r doing in jos is just reporting the xtian side coz media belongs to us like channels, ait, thisday, punch etc.the fulanis are just retaliating i swear. Pls go to nairaland on this issue and get a bit of more knowledge.ignorance is truly a disease,i hav been enlightened by good fellow xtians in jos.no matter the sentiments we should try and be just.linda even if u refuse to post this atleast YOU hav read it.

  24. The hausas/fulanis should continue to kill themselves until they finish killing each other. It's good for Nigeria. Let the yoruba people and igbo live in peace. Igbo kwenu, Yoruba, bawoni o.

    1. It's true actually but come to think of it, if we split, that will not solve the corrupt practices in the blood. A certain Babangida in the North, Baba Iyabo in the West, some Ibori's kinsmen in their side, the truth is that we are all following blind leaders. I believe in Nigeria. She will be a great country if the leaders can serve the nation and not their pocket.
