Nokia Don’t Break the Beat Competition pulls crowd in Abuja

 
Just as the rap competition rounded off in Enugu, Abuja followed suit at Tiffany Gardens with contestants trooping in from within and outskirts of Abuja to compete in the Abuja regional competition. To think that the Enugu competition was concluded, some contestants from Enugu, who did not meet up with Enugu competition, joined the train to Abuja to compete in the Abuja region.

The final was a festival of talents as the 16 rappers short-listed at the audition battled in freestyle punch lines to make the finalists for the Abuja region. 4 winners were eventually selected and they will be competing for the ultimate price of N1m at the grand finale in Lagos on April 28th, 2012 at Getz Arena. They are MX, Dj Switch (1st Female to make it to the final), Rage, and Promaith.

Guest performer at the final include Vector, Phenom, Jaiye, DJ Mekzy, Muna, Me’ Mo, Davido, HKN Gang and Abuja local talents like Mouk J, Pro Skill, Chris D and Temisan. Davido's performance of his hits tracks, "Back when" and "Dami duro" was the peak of the show. Winners from the audience challenge were also presented with the new Nokia Asha phones.

Benin competition is next before the Grand Finale in Lagos, where all the finalists from Lagos, Enugu, Abuja and Benin will compete for the ultimate price of N1m. Please visit www.facebook.com/Nokia Nigeria for details on how to win tickets to the grand finale.
