Natural Nigerian's Naturals in the City Event

Tired of hiding your Mama Iyabo? Can't understand why your hair is thinning at an alarming rate? Please join us for a talk on Hair Loss! We will be looking at how it occurs, how it can be prevented (if possible) and ways it can be treated.

We have gathered professionals and we will look at it from the point of view of a professional hairstylist, a nutritionist and an esthetician. For more information, go to www.naturalnigerian.com and click on the Meet Up page. You will also be able to view pictures from the Meet up we held last year.
This event is open to everyone that has hair - natural, relaxed, thinning or full! Come armed with your questions - our professionals will answer your questions for free. See you there!

  1. I've had natural hair for like 3 years now. This sounds like the most pointless event so far this year in this our crazy naija. How many of them experts listed have this natural hair? Please if you hair is thinning out in front, STOP braiding, ghana weaving and relaxing your hairline. Profective helps. I also usually buy a pretty good tingling growth mix from Hair Therapy in GRA Ikeja.

    1. U took d words out of my mouth.Lace wigs attached to the hairline with glue,weave-ons etc. D hairline loss is as a result of traction alopecia. Allow d hair to rest once in a while or just weave ur ordinary hair, dts y we didn't hv these problems wen we were students cos it was just plain weaving or didi.

  7. First Anon; my hair was thinning in front due to braiding my hair three times a year when i go to Lagos. I didn't stop braiding and it's grown back because i always leave out a thick line when braiding. Plus shea butter and aloe vera have helped to get back my hairline. It's more of managing that part better.

  8. If I lived in Nigeria, I would truly go to this event to see how many people actually show up for it because I am hard pressed to meet Nigerians who wear their hair naturally. There are some who would love to do it but they feel the pressure of society to wear weaves and wigs. They will not even wear braids, it's all too "bush" lol. This would be a great show if women in Nigeria actually cared to rock their natural beauty, how will they if they are stuck on doing everything to be Westernized?

The only Nigerians who have ever had something positive to say about my natural hair are the ones who live in the States where a lot more black women are proud to work with God gave them.

I wish them the best with the event.

  10. I love how some christians contradict themselves by saying God created them perfectly ! Ahahaha so why perm ur god created hair and then proceed to wear weave to achieve d asian/white hair ?!? Did god tell u he was drunk wen he created u with curled hair ?! We won't even sit down and find out how to maintain it, its to go straight to d chemicals or weaves/wigs ..SMH

  11. To avoid your hair from thinning out, braid when new coarse hair noticeably start growing(say from the 6th week after applying relaxer). I wait till after 8-10 weeks. The coarse hair is stronger and supports the hair through the tugging nature of braiding. Again, I learnt vitamin A is good for a stronger, longer and fuller hair. Paw-paw is my favourite source.... Finally, I use a really great home-made conditioner by my stylist. She wouldn't reveal the ingredients(would've shared them all), but there're indian hemp-like particles in it. I guess it's the secret ingredient in there that does the magic. Oops, I also trim at every retouching(that's like every 3-4 months). Well, that's my consistent regimen and my hair is to die for- long, soft, full and even.

  12. I have tried evrytin pointed out here. I have used d indian hemps, eaten all d vitamins, stopped braids for close to 3years but my hair keeps thinning at the front. Pls don't make fun or throw nasty comments, but its just kina depressing when notin seems to work: profective and dr miracle too!!! It weighs me down really esp cos my bf admires oda gals wiv good hair.its jst so sad, without d weaves, I wonder wia I wld be???
