"Mirror Mirror" movie starring Julia Roberts opened yesterday Friday 30th March in the US and it was a visual delight! Paying homage to our African Wax Prints.
It was all done by the late oscar winning Japanese Costume designer- Eiko Ishioka. A standing ovation please, for our Ankara prints.
Wow, can't wait to se the movie, she played a wicked queen.

ReplyDeleteLinda, Ankara is not even an African concept...it came from the dutch who printed Indonesian prints on fabric and sold it to us.The Damask and aso- oke is Africa's lane.

ReplyDeleteLinda, Ankara is not African. It is a type of fabric printing popular in Europe. Its actually the name of a town. African fabric print work can be seen in Adire, Kente etc
