Melanie Amaro Wins US 'X Factor'

The 19-year-old from Sunrise, Florida won a $5 million record deal and a starring role in a Pepsi advert. She was crowned the first season US X Factor winner in a Finale show that held in Los Angeles yesterday Thursday Dec. 22, 2011.

Soulful 30-year-old singer Josh Krajcik of Wooster, Ohio came second, while Chris Rene, the recovering 28-year-old singer-rapper from Santa Cruz, Calif., came in third place.

  6. Yay!my grl won!was scared some voting mishap wld happen nd chris wld win.dint exactly like his vocals.marcus was waay better than him vocally.my biggest regret was dat astro dint get to d end,dude's got skills!

  9. Congrats, Melanie.She was by far the best vocalist in the competition and deserved to win. My favorite tho was Josh. Knew he wouldn't win, but sure glad he got this far. even came second. Still haven't forgiven Nicole Scherzinger for cutting Rachel Crow for Marcus Canty. The silliest decision ever made in music history.

  11. Astro and Marcus were very good as well. Chris wasn't the best vocally, but there was just something about him.

    Melanie isn't unique. A black girl who can sing...bet you haven't seen that before. What sets her apart from the other black girls who can sing out there. Oh well, congrats to her.

    As a dedicated Xfactor fan, I can confirm that US xfactor was so nice...full of talents, drama and no pretence unlike our UK one. Love love Simon Cowell

  19. KILL JOY!, KILL JOY!!, KILL JOY!!! Why did you have to spoil it for us in the UK, intentionally stayed clear of my US friends on FB, just for LIB to spoil it. Aaaaaahhhhhh!!! Melanie was the one I always looked forward to listening to week after week, but I hoped Josh would win, just love his raspy voice. All three finalists are winners in my eyes, they will all do well.
