Ladi Akindele spends Xmas in Ikoyi Prisons. To stay there till Jan 25

Lagos 'Big Boy' and front-man of Chrome Night Club, Ladi Akindele, spent Christmas in Kirikiri Prisons and will be there till January 25th, 2012.

Ladi was ordered detained by the IG of police for failing to honour the Dec 14th invitation by the police over the assault and issuance of dud cheques case against him. He was charged to court on December 22 and the court ordered he be remanded in prison until his next court appearance which will be Jan 25th, 2012.

Ladi was arrested for giving 5 dud cheques to his business partner, Charles Ahize, on November 11th 2011. According to the case before the courts, Ladi was supposed to be paying Charles Ahize N5m a month for the Chrome Night Club space, which belongs to the latter, but refused to pay and when he did, the cheques were not honored by the banks, which is a crime in Nigeria.

  1. @ Linda, You confuse me jor, is it Ladi AKINDELE or Ladi AKERELE???

Good for him, too many plp give dud cheques in Nigeria without getting punished for it. This is a lesson to other business men.

  5. "Big Boy" my arse. How's Ladi Akindele a big boy? Punitive legal action + asset seizure = recovery of money he owes. Ladi Akindele, you're an adult. You knew what you were doing when you wrote those cheques which later bounced. You're a 419er. You're the cause of your predicament. You can dodge your responsibilities, but you cannot dodge the consequences of dodging your responsibilities. Your birth certificate is an apology from the condom factory. You deliberately, knowingly, nonchalantly and fraudulently wrote monkey cheques. You might as well have paid your debt with Italian Lira, cowries and monopoly money. Were you hoping the banks would pay your debts from the atmosphere? You had no business overdraft. You had no money in your business account. Didn't you know your fraudulent scheme would implode on your head? Didn't you think you'd be exposed? I bet you thought you were clever?! You added trouble, subtracted freedom, divide attention, and multiplied stupidity to your debts. Now you have double trouble and still stupid. I bet "should have", "could have" thoughts are swirling in that your big head. You're the biggest dumbass of 2011. BTW, merry Christmas and happy new year, fool.

  7. Not sure when yorobas will learn to stop doing business wit igbo boys. They would kill their own mothers over money. But this Ladi sef stupid gan ni. How dare you first of all ignore the law when they asked you to come to their office like u have 2 heads and then the guts to write fake checks. Were u hoping the bank would make an error or that u can disappear into thin air once they found out these were fake checks. Smh at how stupid u are. In face one month in jail shld teach u thge lesson

  9. Anon @ 6:01pm, you are clearly someone that has had a bad experience with this Ladi Akindele b/c your write up sounds way too personal.

On another note, what is it with all the tribal remarks?

In any event, the only reason why Ladi is in jail is that he stepped on someone bigger and better connect than he. Were Charles Ahize a danfo driver that received dud checks from Ladi A., nothing would come of it.

  13. i have serz issues with some of the comments here, first what does that fool mean by "when will yorobas learn to stop doing business with igbo boys" Thunder fire that person!! Yorubas simply cant survive without doing business with Igbos.
secondly, i dont understand what Giorgio Umanni's problem is, i think he has been bored/jobless for too long.
my honest opinion is this: charles over-reacted, he probably pressurized ladi to even issue a cheque to him,if charles had given Ladi some tym he would have paid, any body who knows about club business knows it is a funny business. i am sure if Ladi had that money he would have paid charles, knowing how useless n senseless charles can be. i wish it happen to Akeem(Movida)*just an aside*
let me make a point clear here, whether Ladi went before the Police invited him, or when they invited him or refused to go at all they would have detained him to please their customer(charles).

God help us in this country, a country where people who commit unpardonable offences go without any punishment.SMH
