Jonathan Fires Sports Minister Suleiman

President Jonathan today fired the Minister of Sports, Alhaji Yusu Suleiman, just a day after he declared his intention to contest the Governorship race in Sokoto state under PDP.

The presidency said his removal was to 'afford him the opportunity to focus fully on the pursuit of his declared political ambition..'

  15. Hey you ! Pay attention. I got big news for you!

Here's the real reason Mrs. Farida Waziri was fired. GEJ tossed her out because it was uncovered by foreign governments that she's been taking massive bribes from those she was supposed to investigate and jail. The president, Goodluck Jonathan got hold of the facts and kicked Mrs. Farida Waziri out of her job, unceremoniously. Remember she claimed she heard about her sacking on tv? Well, she knew why she was sacked. She was sacked because she's rotten, corrupt and had millions of dollars stashed offshore in her name. This is big scandal oooh.  Read the real story below. Breaking News:  Corrupt EFCC May Re-open Corruption Cases Against 32 Ex-Govs, As US, UK Anti-Graft Experts Are In Nigeria.

Nigeria appears set to revitalise its anti-corruption war following the arrival in the country of top anti-graft Czars during the week, Saturday Tribune can authoritatively reveal.

Major Western nations, which cut strategic cooperation with Nigeria when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was under its erstwhile Chairman, Mrs. Farida Waziri, had sent in their top operatives to explore a renewed cooperation in the area of money laundering and anti-corruption.

It was gathered that former governors, whose cases had become moribund under the Farida-led EFCC, had become jittery as a result of the discovery that  some Western nations had sent their top operatives to re-open some of the cases.
Sources said that some meetings had been held between Nigerian officials and those foreign anti-graft Czars, who started arriving the country immediately after Waziri’s sack.

  18. Lin Lin, I don't think he was fired o. I think the Sports Minister's departure was one of mutual understanding between both parties (but I am not 100% sha). All the sackings, moves etc do not even move me. The whole system consists of recycled crap..I mean persons :-D. They just go from one post to the other. I do not know much about this guy but I am not sure how he qualifies to be a State Governor. That is why some States are in the toilet. The people at the helm of affairs are inexperienced and lack vision, save for a vision to enlarge their pockets :-p. Lord keep us till 2015 or until you want to have mercy on us and touch the hearts of Nigerians to Libya(yels I used it as a verb) some of these leaders.

  23. Linda, this is not fair. Your blog ought to be a responsible one. Am sure that is your aim. You should also realise that what you say can influence as it appears that you are well followed and respected.
So why you dey mislead people na? No wia a serving minister go still hold him potfolio wen him wan seek elective office. They're usually required to resign their office. The way you put am con make GEJ look bad whereas na the mallam resign by himself. GEJ enemies send you? E b like say IBB and Atiku don hire you to run down GEJ. Linda, watch what you ah do o!

  27. Its just sad the ignorance of some people, and Linda its as if you r adding to it.

If you are well versed in these matters you will know that it is standard practice in Nigeria that if you are a member of the cabinet and you want to contest elections you will be "let go" as you put it .
it happened in obasanjos time for e.g liyel imoke had to be relieved of his post as Minister of Mines?education so he can face his campaign to govern his state.
I wonder why you always or instigate bashing GEJ even when not necessary, chill it looks as if your trying so hard to disassociate yourself from the envelope scandal during the campaigns !

its your perogative to post this or not, but the main imporatnt person has read it and that is you!
