Bomb blast: A burden we must live with – President Jonathan

"The issue of bombing is one of the burdens we must live with until it fizzles out." - Goodluck Jonathan.

The President said this yesterday Sunday Dec 25th when he received a delegation of the Christian Community in FCT led by FCT Minister Bala Mohammed after the BOMBING of a Catholic Church in Suleja.

  6. seriously???? is that what GEJ is saying or some one just put that (a burden we must live with)as a headline?. Don't blame him 'cos he hasn't lost a loved one. I wish the military will take over so that the entire senators etc will be scrapped. This bomb blast can't take place under OBJ watch.

  13. Boko Haram: Jonathan set to overhaul security agencies
    By Yusuf Alli

Barring last minute change of mind, President Goodluck Jonathan will soon overhaul security agencies in the country to tackle the menace of Boko Haram.
Some heads of a few agencies and top security officers might be affected.
Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the overhaul might be part of the pre-New Year security package by the President.
It was gathered that the President is not happy that there is no synergy among some security agencies.
It was also learnt that security reports made available to the President suggested that some security officers, in charge of sensitive commands, do not know their jobs.
A highly-placed source, who spoke in confidence, said the President has made up his mind to wield the big stick to prove a point that he knows what he is doing.
He said: “Very soon, there will be a security overhaul in some key agencies by the President. There will be a major shake-up.
“The fact that Jonathan is keeping quiet does not mean that he is weak. Can you be a sitting President and there will be security lapses and keep quiet?
“Look at what happened between two security agencies when a Boko Haram leader escaped from custody. Do you think the President will be blind to such a lapse?
“Even the latest explosion in Kaduna upset the President over a flimsy excuse by the police that it was as a result of gas cylinders. Whereas the security report available to the President was to the contrary.
“I can assure you that on or before January the issue of Boko Haram will come to an end.”
Replying  a question, the  source added: “The details of the shake-up are being worked out but the President has made up his mind.”
He also said that more influential Nigerians allegedly sponsoring the Boko Haram sect might be exposed, arrested and made to face trial.
“If you hear the names of these sponsors, you will be shocked. It is so bad that some Nigerians do not mean well for this country.
“Already  a Senator is undergoing trial but we have more of such bigwigs bankrolling this sect.”

  15. 'Nigerian Taliban' threat prompts US military training

The US army provided counter-insurgency training to Nigerian troops battling a rise in attacks by Islamist militants, the Nigerian military has revealed.

The military said some battalions had received training in the US. "The army is in the process of setting up a division that is effectively looking at warfare tactics," a spokesman said. "Various battalions were in the United States earlier this year for training to that end."

It is though these include specialist units such as bomb disposal.

US officials confirmed it has a longstanding deal with Nigeria with soldiers travelling to America for training. It could not comment on whether the exercises was aimed at combating Boko Haram.

All of you clueless people chatting shit online are pissing me off. Condemn Boko Haram and their sponsors, but leave GEJ alone.

You're a naive ignorant little fool. GEJ will never step down. He did not kill anyone. The killings are not his fault. Just because you and some other ignorant bastards chatting shit don't have the list of his effort to put and end to Boko Haram don't mean he's sitting on his hands. When Abacha and IBB were directly slauthering southerners, did you or your father publicly or privately ask them to step down. GEJ is not a magician or dictator. He will do and act within the law. He must be given a chance. Aso Rock is not the birthright of Muslims or northerners.

  20. President Bad luck’s crass repetitive untoward expressions at every bomb blast incident have become a blueprint for a state heading towards anarchy and doom. My fellow Nigerians, the challenge of understanding the Boko Haram quagmire and the cabal of bomb plotters is beyond the PhD degree of the President and his rag-tag charlatans masquerading to be advisers. Our case is indeed that of an oxymoron ‘we don enter ‘one chance’. God help us!

// The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed the full resources for our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.//

GEJ you are tooo weak, you are a puppet!

  24. Badluck Ebele jonathan! I am of the opinion that you shud resign! If i should calculate the number of souls who have perished in ur administration, its enough to make up two solid states!

  25. Kunle at bukchris...u are the biggest fool on earth...From ur write-up it is obvious that ur knowledge of governance is very limited. For future reference, if u don’t know what to say/write, pls shut it!! and stop being abusive to all nigerians...for ur info..MR PRESIDENT is the chief security officer of the country by virtue of the oath of office he took when he was sworn in as the president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces...billions of naira is earmarked for security annually..therefore he takes responsibility for any security lapses in the country as in the case of Boko Haram insurgence. what the people are saying is he should take a decisive and everlasting action now to curb these senseless killings..this is a democratically elected govt so to say as opposed to totalitarian regimes synonymous with ABACHA or IBB. And if MR PRESIDENT is so timid and naive to take effective actions to curb these killings, he should do the honourable thing by resigning. For him to say "bomb blast is a burden we must live with" is not just on...this is an insult on the psyche of all peace-loving Nigerians...innocent people got killed today..It could be anybody tomorrow including u KUNLE..therefore i say MR PRESIDENT should step down for being incompetent to tackle the security lapses that have now become the rule in Nigeria

  26. Linda, Yesterday I was furious! I even advocated retaliatory strikes against these conceited bastards...then I heard our president say that Boko Haram will get tired of bombing. I couldn't stop laughing....Then when I stopped laffing, I got down on my knees and prayed this prayer" Oh Lord our God, they said you gave us Jonathan to take us to the promised land. They said you anointed him yo rule your people (that is if we are still your people). Oh God I dont doubt you but I am beginning to doubt these your messengers. Please Lord if truly you anointed Jonathan to rule us, we ask for forgiveness because it can only be to punish us that you made him our president. If you did not, please have mercy on us and remove him like his oga and while you are at it, bend the mouth of all those your messengers...Amen

  27. I pray that Boko Haram Bomb Southeast Nigeria Very well. I pray they find a way to Bomb Southeast very heavily. Those Idiots in Southeast Rigged the election massively for GEJ. We all knew Buhari would have been much better. Nigeria needs a mix of Dictatorship and democracy for things to change. Buhari did NOT steal money when he was in his 40s why would he steal in his 60s. Nigeria was very orderly during Buhari's time. How can only Democracy work in the midst of Semi-Animals??

    ReplyDelete
  28. Until we all see the bombing beyond religious grounds and accept that those killed are fellow nigerians we cannot collectively address the issue.the presidency has failed nigerians on their sworn constituitional oat to protect the lives and propeties of every Nigerian.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Boko Haram menace and other security threats in the country must be effectively addressed by all means. Shedding the blood of innocent persons is an abomination before God and clearly condemned by our faiths. It is also a crime against the laws of the nation. Those found culpable should be charged under the criminal/penal code with murder. You all should focus and condemn the criminals, Boko Haram. Our president is doing his best. He didn't kill anyone. For the sake of unity in the country that's why he's not released the list of highly placed Nigerians who are using Boko Haram to campaign for their personal and regional objectives. Y'all should blame Sultan of Sokoto and his fellow Fulani / Hausa people. Only them can tell Boko Haram to stop their lunatic behaviour, but they won't cos Boko Haram is their creation and mask.

"Disturbances in society are never more fearful than when those who are stirring up the trouble can use the pretext of religion to mask their true designs." ~ Denis Diderot.

“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.” ~ Oscar Wilde.

    ReplyDelete
  33. GEJ is a FAILURE. He does not have what it takes to be a leader and his lack of leadership is the PRIMARY reason there is growing insecurity in Nigeria including boko haram attacks. GEJ is the same person that went to meet with some boko haramists to beg them to stop the attacks. He should be IMPEACHED for this and for being incompetent.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Since GEJ is clueless as to how to proceed, let me give him a few tips on how to make Nigeria more secure:

    1. Stop stealing public funds b/c one it is wrong, two, it prevents you from having the money to meet the peoples' needs, and three, its not your effing money.

    2. Alleviate poverty and suffering in Nigeria. It is not normal anymore for human beings in a supposedly modern country called Nigeria to live with inconsistent electricity,non-existent running water, barely there road networks, non-working hospitals, and a failed justice system. These things contribute to an environment for boko haram and their ilk to thrive. When people have nothing and are given nothing by their government, they are not invested in the community and therefore, have zero qualms about bombing others.

    3. Have an immediate response to boko haram such as air strikes on the villages of the boko haramists and public executions if need be. If they want to go to war, then so be it. Give them hell.

    2. Engage the assistance of UK and USA if need be for short term and long term responses to the problem. Both countries have an interest in addressing terrorist threats.

    3. Seal the northern border with Chad by erecting a high electronic fence similar to the ones the US is erecting between itself and Mexico. That northern border is porous and unsecured.

    4. Implement a mandatory national identification system that is picture and fingerprint based so that we know who is who in Nigeria. Pattern it after passport type identification so that it is electronic as well.

I can go on and on, but ultimately GEJ needs to shine his eyes otherwise, we will get to a place where Nigerians will engage in self help and one of two things will happen: civil/ethnic war or the military will take over.

  35. U people shud liv GEJ alone and blame the foolish nothern leaders dat can't control their stupid animals called alumajiri, wat ve dey done since all dis days to tame the blood sucking animals called boka haram

Naija people fuckin moan too much. Regardless of what you lot are saying with your stinking mouths, GEJ must not step down. I'm not his supporter and neither do I support PDP or their policies. I am Yoruba. I don't know GEJ. I am not from his part of the country. He's being bullied by northern leaders and ex-governor. I am agsinst that. Open your minds to the truth of what GEJ is facing at the hands of Hausa people. They are retaliating because he defied them by standing for the 2011 election. I'm feed up of you lot erroneously believing that only northern Muslims or northern christians can or have God given right to occupy leadership positions. Hell no. Y'all are doing exactly what Boko Haram wants - to wrongly accuse GEJ of ineptitude and incompetence and hounded out and a northerner takes over. Hell no. GEJ must stand his ground. It's his legal right to serve his term of office to the best of his abilities and in peace. You lot must open your brains and myopic existence to the truth of what those divisive and rotten northern leaders are deliberately doing to sabotage GEJ's administration and distablise the country. If we allow them, they will keep doing it. Its wrong and unlawful. I hate fools. Y'all are acting like the biggest fools of the past 100 years and the next 100 years :(

Haters and critiques of President Goodluck Jonathan are closet supporters of Boko Haram, Sharia Law, Islamic Banking, Hausa / Fulani Domination, Oppressive Millitary Dictatorship.

It's 51 years and we have nothing to boast of if not cassava bread and murderous atrocities and a cliche that Nigerians are Happy people. Let us not forget that the saddest people have the most beautiful smile to cover their sorrow. So having a smile is not being Happy. Nigerians take accountability for what is wrong with Nigeria. Change has not been forthcoming because, the old dog (Nigeria) has refused to learn new tricks for proper governance of the country. This is pure Genocide let us speak up If Nigerian Government will not. We are fighting ourselves to extinction!!!!!!!!! Leave your comments http://wp.me/p1EGfI-3m

Kunle I am at a complete loss of words at your complete blasé attitude towards innocent lives that have been lost and a leaders equally nonchalant attitude and seeming incompetence in the face of such a grave situation. How in the world can you even sit there and say we should leave him alone?! There is something called accountability and As long as he is the commander in chief he has to be accountable to us! People are dying!! Book Haram is getting bolder and a leader is telling us it is a burden we MUST live with and you think that is even in the region of normalcy? This is what has been slowly killing us and will be the ultimate death of us - people like you who will excuse those who should be accountable, accepting constant and continuous mediocrity. we moan too much? Maybe you aren't moaning enough.

  58. @ Kunle; it is obvious that u r stupid... If u cannot comprehend that GEJ is incompetent and insensitive to make such a statement after the bombing of innocent NIgerians that he took an oath to protect. If your family was involved I bet you will have a different view.

You are ignorant and daft...if GEJ cannot protect NIgerians, he should step aside and let someone who genuinely care about the welfare of NIgerians take his place irrespective of where they come from.

If the President knows or suspect certain 'people' shouldn't they be investigated and if confirmed that these 'people' are involved, bring them to face justice? If these so called former leaders are trying to saboutage his efforts why not bring them to book?

People please shine your eyes... Kunle we need you to be a bit sensitive to the families of those who lost their lives in the bombing, same goes for GEJ as well.
