From TMZ:
Rap legend Heavy D -- one of the most influential rappers of the '90s -- died earlier today ... TMZ has learned. Heavy D - real name Dwight Arrington Myers - was rushed to an L.A. hospital around noon today and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 PM. He was 44 years old.
We've learned a 911 call was placed from Heavy's Beverly Hills home around 11:25 AM to report an unconscious male on the walkway. When help arrived, we're told Heavy D was conscious and speaking -- and was transported to a nearby hospital. He died a short time later.

ReplyDeleteHe was a close personal friend. We were at Tower heist Premiere together. Rest in peace Heav! you lived a good life. shows that we dont know the hour or the place...
ReplyDeleteI hope he didn't die of heart attack sha. He seemed too heavy. Let other young people learn from this and watch their weight. RIP
ReplyDeleteI am deeply saddened by this news. I saw him perform on BET awards earlier in October and was so tripped by the way he still had the swag even with the fact that it was his first live performance in 15 years. I was very happy to see him and was so sure he would do a comeback soon. I have never been so happy seeing him alive and well after many years had passed. I followed Heavy’s career keenly and fell in love with his deliveries. This is a big blow for people like us that knew and felt his music in his active years. But we cannot question God. Rest in Peace Dwight “Heavy D, Overweight Lover” Meyers. You will be greatly missed!
