Forbes Africa Magazine Man Of The Year - Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

Central Bank of Nigeria's Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has been named the first ever Forbes Africa MagazineDD Man of the Year.

Sanusi came out tops in a vote that was keenly contested and included Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote and Nobel Peace Laureate Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Do you agree with this; is he your Man of the Year?

  9. Nonsense! All these public officer and appointed governor are just shams. He must have paid millions of dollars to emerge as the African man of the Year. That was the same thing Soludo did. Must they collect titles and wards? Is Nigeria the only country with a Central Bank Governor. These people are just taking the people for granted and playing to the galleries. What rudeness. What has he achieved? With half of the banks struggling to survive and laying off their staffs at random. Where did all of Soludo's reform take us? Everything came tumbling back to us and this one too has started. After his tenure, the next agenda is to start struggling and scheming to become the governor of his state. He was paid to set the fin vial and banking sector right. Nigerians pls stop singing his praises, leave him and let him do his job. Why didn't Forbes make him the World Man of the Year. They know he can only be limited to Africa. No African man has enough sense as an oyinbo man, that's what they think and believe. They think we are stupidly crazy for power and title and so give it to us just as we want it. These craze for money and power has got to stop. We the new breed has got to prepare ourselves to be the catalyst for change in Nigeria. Enough of doing follow follow for these spent old brains who only think of themselves and their immediate family members. Nigeria's got to move forward. If we don't change our mindset my people, there will be no Nigeria for our children to call their own o. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, please do your job or get the hell out. Your work will speak for you not Forbes.

  10. How's he d best CBN gov Nigeria has ever had?? How's he even d man of d year? Isn't it same CBN governor thats chucking tenants out of his newly acquired N1b property so he can build a hanging garden beside his house?
Apparently, Previous landlord refused 2 return balance of rent already paid & Sanusi Lamido is not even smiling with anyone, so more homeless peeps.

So we'll be buying fuel N140 per liter next year and our CBN gov is spending N1b to acquire space for a hanging garden?
Nigerian leaders are the most shameless thieves on the planet.....NATO we have oil please come and save us!!

  13. without any iota of prejudice, with due respects to the man, it sounds like business to me. Is Forbes part of our Nigerian experience? I wonder about their criteria for selection but I dare say say that a popular poll, evem on the... internet, would have returned Dangote or someone known to be a consistent African nationalist. Before CBN, what had been the content of Sanusi's credentials in African nationalism? As CBN boss how much impact has he made across Africa? Is Forbes aware of the billions of naira that has gone into his so-called 'sanusitization' of the banking sector? Sincerely, this award is as controversial as fuel subsidy removal of which he is a flag bearer. No thumbs-up

  17. These Ego Massaging awards we seem to praise in Nigeria mean nothing out there.

Trust me, its all Politicised these days,

Even Mallam wld not like to see the usual congrats in the dailies which seem to follow these awards in Nigeria,

I dont have a problem with SLS as a person, in fact he his more reserved that anyone weve even had in that position bar former Governor Sanusi (the Yoruba one) its the people jumping up over nothing I think should sit back and have a rethink

African Person of The year, so? All people are saying is that in the real world this award means nothing. only in 9ja do they report thinks like Banker of the year, Industrialist of the year in a country where no industry really dey,

Apart from Noble Prize and Oscars bar a few nobody dey dance 4 market over ds awards we seem to paste our national dailies with

Then again Oscars sef after 2 days u no go see am 4 paper or see wan yeye person dey dance all over the place.

SLS sef no wan make una dey shout over ds kin yeye awards Forbes person of the year, say wetin, :

CBN is responsible for liquidity in the system which directly impacts the capital market and confidence within the polity so he has to work hand in hand with Okonjo as well

Pity egos have gotten in the way of both of them so one is trying to prove to the other, Im the boss, im going to show u na me matter pass at the expense of the nation, economy collapsing

that is what we are saying,

Okonjo with all her books is even confused its obvious, if she can be fooled for the 2nd time that the money saved from subsidy will be used to do the basics within the system. LOL

when we have clearly seen the past antecedents of others

CBN, Ministry of Finance, Trade or Industry, all the people want is a thriving economy and a level playing field with the basic infrastructure in place for them to get on with their world

Is that 2 much to ask 4?

No one is interested in spreadsheets, powerpoints, Big Figure @ seminars or these awards, enuff is enuff.

  18. Was thinking aloud..why aren't 9ja innovators and intellects given awards anymore..all I see are charlatans like this man and his ilk..collect some nonsense award after the other..with that silly bow tie..want to wrap around his neck!!..hasn't he seen the suffering...when did you see this Clown roll his sleeve up and get in the trenches??..

  19. @anonymous 11:40 educate us properly on the meaning of daft and being educated. you should at least state your statistics or your findings to substanciate your claims clearly. This blog is not yours, everybody is entitled to his or her opinions. You have indirectly demmostrated the level of your consciousness.
