Gov. Okorocha to hold meeting with criminals and kidnappers in Imo State

While speaking at the launch of Operation Rescue in Imo state two days ago, Imo State Governor made the comment below...
I want to invite all Criminals in Imo State. If you are a Criminal, a potential Criminal, former Criminal, I want to set a date where I am going to have a private meeting. Me and you! So we can discuss on the way forward. You are our children; we do not hate you. We don’t want to kill you. We don’t want to destabilize your life but, we want you to have a change of attitude. While we are working that Imo must be better, we also want to make sure that your life will be better. So very soon, I am going to call on an emergency meeting of all Criminals in Imo State and all the Service Chiefs in Imo State to have a one on one talk. Nobody will be there. We shall sort out the Security problem in Imo State.
This Governor is hilarious! Did he say a meeting with potential criminals? No words...lol.

  1. The man is silly. This is bloody annoying. If he wants to have meeting with criminals, he needs to start with the politicians, chief of police, the police, the army, the rotten business people who don't pay tax on their earning, then, himself. He's potential future criminal that would one day (mark my word) embezzle all the government money in Imo just like his predecessors. I beg, this man needs to go sit on top of garbage truck cos he's talking a pile shit. He can't deal with crime in his backyard, now he wants criminals to become the creative geniuses that'd now solve crime in the sate? He should be locking up criminal, not have a UN debate about anything with any criminal. He might as well give them keys to Central Bank of Imo State. Nonsense. That statement just exposed his foolishness and lack of meaningful police that will advance Imo State. Did you ever see or hear Fashola have meetings with criminals or future criminal?

  20. This meeting is going to hold!
I know some of you naysayers may not believe it but trust me when I say that Gov Okorocha is going to meet with the criminals of Imo state when he says he will.
So far the meeting room or place has mirrors then a meeting is guaranteed!
Once he meets this criminal, he should immediately arrest him and deal with him thoroughly!

  23. Anon October 2, 2011 10:07 AM; didn't BAT do it with the "alright sir" boys? He empowered them. Perhaps that's Rochas' line of thought. The way he said it is comical though.
Imo state is a den for these criminals and if he can alleviate crime, i will give him props.

  24. Anonymous October 2, 2011 10:07 AM, You sounded more silly and bloody annoying by the kind of comment you made here, I believe that you are still Living in the Far past. Every Intellectual adopts an unusual way of solving his problems/challenges, As the Chief Executive of the State, He deems it fit to have it any way it will benefit his People, or do you think they will him him any harm when his security apparatus is heavily fortified? it is when he knows their problems that How will know how to solve it and instead of living the life of crimes, they will now be partners in progress, Okorocha is one of the best things that has happened to Imolites of who Miss LINDA IKEJI is part of, MIND YOU...am not from IMO STATE, lets stop deceiving ourself, 'cos A man must know where the rain starts commenced to figure out where it stopped, but know that He can't stop crime totally but at least to a barest minimum 'cos they will tell him what made them indulge in crimes and also mention if possible the names of their sponsors and all dat jazz. I wish you watched that program where LINDA got this, you would have appreciated what HE is doing in Imo. I mean no offence/harm here!...Thanks!

  25. SERIOUSLY?! "we dont want to distabilise your lifes but we need to have a change in attitude"!!! SERIOUSLY?! so what? criminals are now prodigal children to be petted and patted on the back and offered bones and meat as rewards for their behaviour in order to have sanity? Who the hell does this guy think he is? is this how he intends to move his state forward? Imo State! Security ZERO! Education minus 20! Health care minus 40! it is thanks to thieves and thugs like him and his predecessor that the youth dont value education anymore and see crime and thugerry as the way forward! Ask any child in the state now what he wants to be in the future and they'll tell u they all want something connected with politics. Except it is not politics with a sense of justice or making things right but they all want to legitimise crime!

Really these people should be shot in full view of the public!

  27. I don't approve this at all, anyways, if he do propose to share money to them criminals or even promise to give them work. Then be ready to see even honest men with no job flaming as criminals and women as criminals? Or is there any other name for women criminals?

  28. This is an interesting approach, not sure if this is the right way. If I am advicing him I will tell him the best way to curd crime is to create job, and you create job by giving investors incentive to invest in IMO STATE. My company www.shopkolo.com will certainly like to set up shop in Imo if the environment is right.Alot of Money and talent have left Imo and serious work must be done to attract them back.

  30. Linda you must not allow posts made by readers on this blog who do nothing but denigrate leaders. What's wrong in a state governor trying to engage citizens in a dialogue meant to reduce crime? whats wrong in negottiation? jobs are not not created over night and people must understand this. The recurrent expenditure of state governments in Nigeria at the moment can't allow for capital investments which can guarantee good jobs. so in the mean these criminals must be engaged and persuaded to desist from their eveil ways. Honestly i see nothing wrong in what he's trying to do.
