"By today's attack, we are once again reminded of the international character of terrorism and its indiscriminate targeting of innocent civilians, I affirm Nigeria's determination to continue to play its part in the global effort to eradicate the scourge of terrorism in all its ramifications." - GEJ. #talktalk
Meanwhile, not to cause any panic o, but there's a broadcast I got that I feel I should share. We might have nothing to fear in Lagos, but just in case, let's all be security conscious. This group can obviously strike at any time and any place. RIP to all those who lost their lives today. May God keep us all safe. Read the broadcast after the cut...
Stay off the Third Mainland Bridge and surrounding areas.
"Lagosians are advised to stay off the Third Mainland Bridge and surrounding areas. Unconfirmed report says terrorists plan to bomb Lagos within 24 hours of bombing the UN building in Abuja. This information comes from 1st suspect arrested in connection with the Abuja blast. The law enforcement agencies are working to thwart the latest threat. Military roadblocks and other emergency and security measures might result in traffic congestion. The use of alternative routes is strongly advised."
Terrorism has no place in any society and the 9ja govt would need to seek advise from countries dealing with these both in an advisory capacity and in developing specially trained personnel who can deal with these issues better than the police.
ReplyDeleteIt is well...
ReplyDeleteToo much rhetoric. We want action!
ReplyDeleteagain and again i have spoken.......it is only fashola that can save nigeria........he is the last messiah after mallam nuhu ribadu.....,.
ReplyDeleteincase u people have forgotten.....all big african countries within last six months have falllen apart from south africa ofcourse because of the european factor
Smh, isn't boko haram a domestic group? What is international about it?
ReplyDeleteWhat nonsense..they need to secure the bridge..stay off for how long??..they need to pre-empt this things not react..so people stay off for 2 weeks and after that what happens??..not making the people feel secure in the least!!
ReplyDeleteReuben Abati..thrash talking..and GEJ just nodding in approval..talk is cheap..re-assure the people..and stop the empty promises...
We need ACTION not mere speeches!,inugo?
ReplyDeleteSome Prezzie we have...you would think since someone had the nerve to set off a bomb near Eagle Square that killed many..alarms should have been ringing..a good leader would have seized control right there and then..you would have thought somewhere like Abuja would be seriously fortified and monitored with state of the art communication/scanning/intrusive equipment..but no they too busy looting..bathing in the luxuries of their new positions and letting vermins fester...one thing is Northerners who we can justifiably say are responsible for this have no qualms about taking their own lives or others..as long as they think they following some dogged ideology..they are unshakeable in their beliefs..
ReplyDeleteThe silence of their leaders is deafening..nothing from Sultan..IBB..Atiku..Chiroma..even Ribadu..SILENCE..
GEJ's fear of this people would be his undoing..he has lost too much ground..for me he only rules the South\West..and he still appeases them look at the case of Justice Salami..and who does he appoint??..ur guess is as good as mine!!..
so soon Linda ... its not up to 100days of the Jonathan presidency and you are dissing him already with your talk talk hashtag. A while back you were defending his ignoble act of doling out 50 000 per person to young people for a few hours audience with him.. that was a symptom of how clueless this man is and time will reveal him as such.
ReplyDeletewhat a weak president we have, i knew it l come to this nd this s d beginning, since d corpers were slaughtered like rams and not even a single culprit was aprehended i knew this president has no guts, u mean alld bomb blasts were carried out by ghosts? haba not even a single arrest..Oga Jona u do fall my hand o
ReplyDeleteBlah blah blah! All talk and no action! I'm not convinced that GEJ knows what to do about Boko Haram...maybe if they bomb his office he'll sit up and do something. This is an embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteGOD have mercy on us.................GOD have mercy on us.................
ReplyDeleteslow mo president! i just can't talk enuff! he is just like hamelet in shakespeare's Hamlet! prolly when they bomb aso rock he would take action!
ReplyDeleteBadluck Jonathan must be impeached.
ReplyDelete*ajalahtravel*
Such vague words! he's response is rather alarming!
ReplyDeleteI think its going to take a lot more than that jibber jabber to sort this problem out!
International community ko!,local community ni!Another rhetoric for evading a serious affair.Perhaps until aso rock goes up in flames,it is business as usual.
ReplyDeleteI think we have Nigeria's weakest/clueless president in the making.
"We know the perpetrators of 1/10/10",since then what has happened?
it's not a surprise that this is happenening in Nigeria,Nigerians careless attitude condones it.Later NTA & their daft collegeaus wud say report suspicious movement(whatever that means).
Meanwhile let us babble as usual while we wait for the next explosion...
i got dat broadcast too o! naija needs serious deliverance from d shackles of some wicked pple. tins we only see on TV r now hapnin in our very before, na wa ya!
ReplyDeleteGod help us.
Hmmmm see dumb talk. Lives have been lost and dozens injured and this so called leader calls it a 'reminder' Shame!
ReplyDeleteLORD HELP US ALL AND SAVE US FROM THE HANDS OF THE EVIL ONES.
ReplyDeleteJonah is CLUELESS PERIOD!!!
ReplyDelete@ADE COOL, why don't you keep your comment short and simple..your comments are always OP (out of Point)
@Anon 9.24AM
ReplyDeleteMy woman doesn't like it short and sweet..lol!!
Moving on well it obviously wasn't meant for simpletons like you..any surprise the Nigerian Educational System is at it's lowest ebb..just want a quick answer..wonder why we have this ODE as a Prezzie who no doubt took a short cut to his Phd..
If you don't like my comments..move on to the next one..
Would have more respect if you could put a pic and use a real name..COWARD!!..
I must have got under your skin in the past..
Another long one 4 ya..and what you going to do??..get Linda to impose a word limit...nonsense!!
Ma brodas n sistas, I tell u most solemnly, if u really want 2 kno wat Linda's poop looks like, then u shud take a very good look @ GEJ's face...Wen he was signing Justice Salami's sack letter, he was heavy weight but wen e rish Boko Haram, e go turn light weight. Mstcheeeeeew LINDACUMPOOOP!!! As 4 that Abati man, they shud send him to Borno to go n negotiate since he knows d in n out of GEJ's thoughts.
ReplyDeleteBOMB BLASTS-----Eagle Square independence, Mogadishu Barracks Xmas period, Zuba area Inauguration, Police headqtrs Ringims declaration that Boko Haram is a piece of cake,NOW UN building all of this in less than a year in the Nations capital ALMIGHTY ABUJA.......We can now see that these BOKO idiots are getting bolder by the second, they dont need to be triggered to plant bombs.
ReplyDeleteI miss OBJ whenever it becomes a matter of national security his military defence mechanism sets in.
Jonathan should stop handling this with kids glove because this is AL QAEDA in the making.Ɣ☺ΰ can never negotiate with terrorists...
The picture of a woman on the front page of punch newspaper today on Abuja bomb blast was very disrespectfull. Did anyone saw it? The editorial board need to apologize for that pix.
ReplyDeleteIf Jonathan wanted to speak all this english, he should have remained a professor.
ReplyDeleteWe have been signed, sealed and delivered into hell.
I'm actually looking forward to nigeria breaking up. So that we can rest.
Or can all these leaders just die?
The north, the north, the north ... how many times did i call u??? hmmmm
Presidency is not a birth right even tho jonathan is useless. y do i have a feeling that there's oil in the north?
i must say i find it quite hard to believe Nigerians actually thought the attack is from a Nigerian terrorist group. they dont even have such explosives to create such damage. Nigerians needs to no that we are in for foreign intervention or aid as they wuld call it but it is all strategic to put in place a Foreign forerunner in our oil affairs
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:01pm: I find your wrong use of tenses very unsettling.
