  2. @Babylicious, Pls leave d banj alone.

  3. I personally regarded Dbanj as a better talent than Kanye. It is so sad to see one of the best in Africa ass licking a mediocre American talent. Dbanj your antics are not helping Africa, you are just dragging our name into the mud.

  6. DBANJ PLS STUDY YOUR CONTRACT VERY VERY CLOSELY WITH A SEASONED AMERICAN ATTORNEY,WHO WILL BE A ABLE TO DECIPHER ALL THE CLAUSES AND MAKE THEM VERY CLEAR TO YOU...SO THAT YOU WON'T BE INDEBTED TO THESE GUYS FOREVER..SOME OF THEM DON'T GIVE AFRICANS TOO MUCH CREDIT..NOT REALIZING WE ARE AS SMART AS THEY COME...I AM ASSUMING YOU ARE A SMART GUY..SO PLEASE DON'T BE HOODWINKED!!!

  7. DBANJ DID QUITE WELL ON THE INTERVIEW..HE IS OOZING WITH PERSONALITY..I WON'T FAULT HIM, BCOS I HAVE SEEN WORSE FROM NIJA AND EVEN AMERICAN ARTISTS WHO SPEAK STREET ENGLISH, AND SAY Y'ALL, "WE WAS THIS AND WE WAS THAT"...HE IS MORE ARTICULATE THAT EVEN THE KANYE, JAY Z, AND OTHER RAP ARTISTS ...SO LET'S CUT HIM SOME SLACK!! I DIDNT KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT HIM, BUT HE SEEMS TO HAVE A NATURALLY EBULLIENT PERSONALITY THAT WILL TAKE HIM FAR!!!

  9. Dbanj should focus on the deal and stop overemphasizing what has already been done.....he has to deliver...cus if he does not other interested investors may never pick other artists from Africa and Nigeria...so that is what he should be contemplating on and he should be more serious..... I have seen three interviews....I think he is saying more than he should say....Wish him the best in life

  10. He should please quit the faux American accent. Other than that, i think he did just fine :)

  11. I'm not very comfortable wiv dis kanye thing 'cos there's smth very sinister about d jayz 'axis'

  12. It's a good development for Nigerian music industry but in my opinion I think Dbanj is over emphasizing what has already been done.He should focus on what he will deliver to the world and not just Nigerian's and African's. He is the bridge between other music producers all over the world and musicians in Nigeria and Africa. He must deliver then we can continuation of this great landmark that he has established. The ball is in his court and in my opinion the next question he should be asking himself is "What is next, the deal has been signed in paper...How can I make it eternal....make all this excitement and joy worth it". lots of music deals have been signed...how many was worth it....

Dey there they mumu yasef, dey follow oyibo people refer to Africa as a country. rubbish.

  16. You don f dbanj! We go soon treat your fcuk up!

  17. what you are doing there don't make yourself an enemy.

  18. D'banj please, you signed a record deal with Kanye (a dick-head in my opinion), not God. So lets put things into perspective. It remains to be seen whether this parnership will benefit or mar you. Please stop dragging the whole of Africa into this and stop this incessant arse kissing. I was happy for them when they got signed by GOOD but he's beginning to irritate me.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 800million Africans??, Dapo Nigeria alone is 150m.....Africa is NOT a country, stop banging on AFRICA like you have no country.

  20. Hey! African Haters o! Why do all of you just like to hate on your own people. This one criticizing his speech, the other one criticizing his personality and the next one telling him to read his contract.

Do you think he is a bafoon that he will not read before signing?

Why can't you guys just be happy that one of your own is making it instead of trying to bring him down... chai!!!

I keep on saying it, nowhere in the world is there a bigger conglomerate of haters than in Nigeria.

So what he was talking about Africa, he knows that it is a continent and not a country. He is being brotherly and helping everyone else out.

How is he being a butt-licker now by showing gratitude... hia! May God deliver my Nigerian brothers and sisters.

All of una don overdose on haterade

  21. GBAM. CONFIRMED @ Nollywood REinvented.

People here are just hating and criticizing on baseless points.

I admit the whole good music charm is starting to wear off but don't be using that to hate unnecessarily.

Dude isn't dumb, so of course he will not "sign a contract without reading/proofreading" especially after dumping all that money into the deal

And the fact he's saying africans as a whole, he obviously wants to appeal to the larger audience, not just focusing on Nigerians.

    Smarten up people.

  22. @ Nollywood Reinvented....GOD BLESS YOU, the only reason i come to dis blog is cos 95percent of d pple dat comment are not mentally balanced, judging people when dey nid to work on demselves, i just find dem funny...smh 4 una

  26. hmmmm am dbanj....he didnt mention wande coal who happens to be the talented amongst them all(mohits)

......and that nose????? what has he done?

  27. CHEI!! all this noise about signing this and that, less talking, more music making. he keeps going on and on about it with his ass kissing. finally some people are seeing what i was saying some months back when he first signed this deal. can he stop the ass kissing? he acts as if Kanye is God and people are gonna get down on their knees and start worshiping him cause he signed D'banj to his label. maybe D'banj and co can do such, but PLEASE!!!!! it makes him (us) look desperate. LOL at 800 million Africans...there are over 1 billion Africans, unless he decided to exclude the North African world.
and can he stop adding to the akata ignorance about this thing called "Africa" sorry, but you can state that you're from Nigeria and you're trying to be the voice of Africa, but going on and on about it as if Africa is a country is annoying. the only thing that twisted that was when he stated "Congo, Zaire, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana" towards the end. that saves the day.

i really do hope he read the FINE PRINT in that contract, cause I've always believed certain things about Kanye, and i still believe them. hope he didn't sign all in the name of "signing with an American," and that mentality.

  28. Mr dbanj who told you kanye west is the first to pick an artiste?bet you have not heard of the likes of yousef n dour salif keita wvwn fela anikulapo femi seun baba ani as far back as the 70s onwards

  29. in as much as i love the deal with GOOD music am seriously bothered that it could distract our boy don jazzy from the great work he's doing in naija. don jazzy remains naija's best producer. Mohits has a bunch of promising artists awaiting a touch of don jazzy's genius. Can the duo of dbanj & don jazzy make the same impact they made in nigeria in america? I wonder. I just hope they don't abandon their throne @ home while on a voyage of discovery abroad - Obinna

By the way people that obviously were not listening, but looking out to criticize him did not hear when mentioned that other African countries such as Congo,Zaire will be heard. Seriously people support your own , if not go get a life.

  35. Kanye is not the first to pick an artiste from Africa for Pete's sake...whatever happened to Miriam makeba, hugh masekela, ladysmith black mambazo, youssour ndour, fela, Hukwe zawose, Salif keita, Habib KOITE, Baaba Mal, to name but a few...

  36. A fool here regarded dbanj as a better talent than Kanye. Nigerians are very shallow. Too primitive and over there they regard all Africans as africans, They dont say this one is Nigerian or Ghana. They address every African as African so go back to your light less huts

    ReplyDelete
  37. Dbanj is clearly in NY and definitely EATEN a "Big Apple" hence the change in his accent, why do we have to be forceful? What is wrong with our accent? I have lived in yankee for gazillion years and i have been fighting to sound Nigerian, I do not want to loose what sets me apart from the average person. I cannot talk down on his achievement but he has done well for himself but please, lets not loose the originality but u sound so uncouth when you don't pronounce the words right, i started enjoying the interview towards the end when he started talking like a NORMALLY, it is who u re Dbanj be proud of it!

  38. I tire for this poor man syndrome. If you didnt know dbanj before he signed with Kantye you would think he was a broke begger who has just been rescued by the almighty american kanye.....abeg dbanj stop falling my hand, you self get levels, you no be small boy.

  41. D banj, before dat ur kokohead don swell finish, make una read this contract, abi na label signing well well, bcos Kanye West is one of the biggest idiots I know, even though hes talented.

I don't trust him, this whole tin will backfire in ur face. Then, ur fake american nephew go turn to a WINCH.

NIGERIANS, WE ARE TALENTED, AND WE CAN DO IT ON OUR OWN. STOP KISSING UP TO AMERICANS. OUR CULTURE, LANGUAGE, IS WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE AND STAND OUT BECAUSE ONCE YOU ALLOW AMERICANS TO COME IN, THEY WILL WANT TO AMERICANIZE EVERYTHING. STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF.

  42. Wow Nigerians!
