China Opens The World's Longest Bridge

The world's longest sea bridge, Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, in Qingdao, Shandong province, China, was officially opened on Thursday, June 30. The bridge is 42 km (26 miles) long.

26miles? That's endless driving. These Chinese people are something else! Kudos!

  2. Nothing surprises me with the Chinese. I went to the Bird's Nest stadium and my jaw dropped. My tour guide said i hadn't seen anything yet!

This is a country that is putting its resources to good use.

26 miles isn't that long though. Driving around some states in America and even from state to state can be very stretchy.

  5. very nice..the fact that the bridge was built in china doesn't mean it wont last.the made in china products is a strategy the Chinese used to improve their economy. If you want very quality products they can still produce that.Asians are just creative sha

  11. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana spans 23.83 miles (38.35 km)

The total over-water length for Jiaozhou Bridge in China is about 16 miles but the Causeway has its nearly 24 miles all over water. That's a big difference. Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is still the world's longest over water bridge.

Hopefully the Chinese bridge has no drywall in it :)
