He is an idiot and shows that he lacks basic home training. Nigeria has spoilt sha. When we were growing up, these were the kind of students who would break school rules with impunity and have their parents come to school and show the true reason for their childs bad behaviour. Shame on you Dimeji Bankole. You are a thief! If people around you do not tell you the truth then you are very unfortunate. Only God will deliver this nation from the poverty mentality of it's citizens.

  11. The useless thing already knows he would get away free so why would he not laugh. Imagine ke if it is a person who stills a wallet a tyre would be thrown round his neck, pertol poured and fire put in and burnt to death. That is the treatment that bank-ole needs to get for all the money he stole quickly otherwise....

  12. He's laughing cause he will walk away @ the end of the day! this Dimeji get very big set of teeth and humongous lips. i think he will benefit from lip reduction surgery. lol!!!!

  13. I don't think he would go free. If he wasn't scared he wouldn't have released the names of his co-conspirators. He probably will work out a deal where he gets a lesser term and help bring down other thieves.

  14. Dimeji knows EFCC is a joke that's why he's laughing. Those EFCC employees laughing with him in that pic should face disciplinary action for misconduct and for bringing EFCC into disrepute. Criminal offence should not be a laughing matter. I can't imagine officers from the Serious Fraud Office laughing with a suspect. Dimeji Bankole, though, shameless, ought to be ashamed of himself for getting involved in the scandal. Smh.

  15. At times, Nigerians should put sentiments aside before castigating someone...Before Bankole was arrested, we were inundated with the N10billion loan and now we are hearing of baseless 16 count charge? what happened to the 10billion naira??? EFCC is a toothless bulldog!!

  17. He is indeed having fun cos he knows at d end of d day, he will walk away with a slap on d wrist...bt let it b a common man who stole a few millions, he will b handled like a thief caught n Alaba market! He can laugh all he wants bt those EFCC guys should b disciplined...its un professional afterall dey are nt at a circus or at a comedy show.
As 4 d foolish ediots wit placards, am sure dey have spent d chicken fee dey wia paid 2 do dat ( am sure dey dnt know d meaning of ICON )

  18. Smh @ some of the comments sha. So becos he is in efcc custody he cannot laff again. Someone even said the efcc guys should face disciplinary action. Na wa o. Haven't u guys ever heard of 'innocent until proven guilty'?.
I'm a lawyer and i see this happen in court everyday. Accused persons are given d fairest of hearings and it is ensured dt they find d courtroom friendly.
If u look closely, u'd find out dt they r at d federal high court abuja. I can tell by d pink chairs there.
This treatment isn't only 4 d influential accused persons but even for ordinary felons. I've been following d Okah trial (oct 1 bomb blast) at d fed high court, charles okah is always offered a seat in d dock by d judge. He cracks jokes with them all d time. Doesn't mean they wont be convicted if found guilty!
The presumption of innocence is enshrined in our constitution. If u see d judge and bankole laughing outside d courtroom elsewhere, then there's a problem.
Abeg stop displaying such ignorance here. So what happens on d offchance that he's found not guilty?

  19. As for the those ranting about the 16 count charge other than d 10billion naira scandal. What i think is this, the EFCC probably does not have all the evidence 2 nail bankole yet. Probably, they are still gathering vital documents that will nail d guy. Because, no matter d public outcry about an issue, or internet publicity or newspaper speculations, cases are still decided in court by evidence. Moreso, in criminal trials where convictions have to be beyond reasonable doubt.
Now, the EFCC facts pointing to the 10billion naira thingy but dont have all d evidence yet. They however realise that not arresting bankole when they did would lead to his jetting off abroad. So what do they do? They arrest him anyway, call up Keyamo, EFCC lawyer who they have on a retainer, ask him to dust up the old charges on d contract inflation and promptly charge him to court.
I think this 16 count charge is sort of a holding-charge. Pending when they conclude investigations.
All they need do is file additional charges with leave of court.
It's a win-win for them. The guys at EFCC know what they're doing.
Please we should quit expecting the worst from every situation. Let us wait, when Bankole walks away free, then we'll be justified in wagging our tongues and typing/spewing hatred all we want. LOL
Joanne is a lawyer based in Abuja. Is interested in political issues especially as it relates to d judiciary.

  20. Bankole has no shame. He is an accused in a criminal case, there is nothing to laugh about.

If he is acquitted, he can laugh all he wants, but during the trial, he can at least acknowledge the severity of the situation by looking sober...
