Glaxosmithkline gets first Nigerian MD

Since the inception of the pharmaceutical company in 1971, this is the first time a Nigerian will head it. The company's new MD is Chidi Okoro, who holds a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Nigeria and an MBA from the University of Lagos.

He joined the company in 2007. What a meteoric rise

  1. Hmmmm. Mr. Chidi has been appointed the MD of GSK since 2010, I don't know why it is making news right now. Moreso, he joined GSK in 2007 as a Senior Director. Make I no lie this guy is one to emulate.

  4. Hey Linda be sure to specify Glaxosmithkline in Nigeria. When you state MD of the company, it makes it seem like its the global entity.

Thats great to see, would be great to see an interview . Our country needs to encourage more people like this.

  6. He's being MD consumer since April 2010,worst MD ever for GSK consumer, find out how many staff have since his inception especially from the sales dept he is coming from LEFT,more than 90%.The ineptitude of greenies he is bringing in gives him room to operate masterly and economically advantage to himself(hope you know what i mean?) true to prediction.Hope he will not be the first and the last Nigerian MD of GSK consumer Nigeria.O God save GSK
