Ayo Fayose erects multi million naira luxury apartment in Banana Island

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, is on the verge of completing a block of luxury apartments at the most expensive area in Lagos State, Banana Island, in Ikoyi. The luxury flat is a twin building with 12 block of flats to be rented out as soon as it's completed. The building, which is located on Close C, off Nasarawa Street, has a sprawling car park and a lovely swimming pool.
To own a property on the Island...you have to be a top govt official, or an ex-top government official, an ex-governor or a sitting governor, or a minster, or a billionaire, or own many oil wells, or head a large corporation, or own a bank, or...gbo gbo e ati gbo gbo e.
A house there goes for as much as N800million..u get the drift?...:-)

  7. Lagos is the most expensive ghetto in the world If the amount you quoted was right, then we are looking at over $5 million dollars.I can't even think of what to write. This is in CITY where there is no electricity, no drinking water, no security,no road,no home for poor and middle class, no job, no future for young stars,no food,no nothing.I cry for Nigeria!

  8. if u wanna do investigative blog, then ayo fayose, though ia a good start but is a 'small fry' compared to what countless government ex and current are and will continue to steal. my suggestion?; once a week devote 1 writeup to this type of expose and u will see. infact u can ask ur readers to supply u with information and am sure we will. open your eyes baby, the rot is all over

  9. Linda, sometimes I stevie wonder about u. Can't believe u blogged this praising these corrupt and thieving bastards. If it was in the UK, they won't get away with it. They ought to be in jail. How did past govt official or the current ones accumulate all that cash? Forget the 419ers, there are far too much powerful rogues in Nigera.

How much did they pay u to blog this shit?

Anyway, £3.7m +/- is not a lot of money for billionaire properties. In some areas of London, homes are from £25m. Read the "Sunday Times Rich List"

In a country where everyone is "blind" (and their brains dumbed down), the few that have "one eye" are kings.

  12. I take back my comment. Sorry. I just get mad when I see naija's ex leaders living it large while the masses suffer in Nigeria. Naija could have been one of the richest countries in the world, but thanks to our leaders, we are no better than somaliland or Tanzania. Within 5 yrs from now, corrupt African leaders can no longer launder their loot in UK or any eu country. As for the ones like Abacha family, obasanjo, Babaginda & co who have multi million pound homes in London & USA, they will one day be asked to account for the source of their wealth. The heat's gone of them here in UK since the rotten Labour party mismanaged the economy and allowed those bastard Conservatives, to grab power with the naive LibDem. With the Conservatives in power UK favours our politicians. They make all the usual noise in the press, but in practice, they turn a blind eye cos looted money like ours is what makes London the financial capital of the world. Uk grew fat on what their fucking ancestors stool from out ancestors. They are still growing fat on looted Arab money. The Saudis are robbing their people blind, too and money is in UK and eu. The Egyptian, mubarak is said to be worth over $70 Billion. Some of that looted cash will def be floating in City of London.

If the fucking Bfitish govt are hounding the likes of James Ibori, it's for show to fool stupid black people and black churches to vote for them. Operation black vote was a fraud on black people. After the election they forget black people. I don't vote no more. UK is fucked up, but not for long.

White people corrupted Nigerian officials. Corrupt govt officials, past and present are no better than common criminals and must be treated accordingly. They should face firing squad.

The penalty for corruption, if found guilty, should be the death penalty. Death is the only deterrent. Black people death, dogs, and water. So, give em 3 options: get bitten to death by rothweilers, or thrown into a shark infested lake or tied to the stake and shot.

The action of out bastard leaders destroyed many families, many lives and a lot of Nigerians may never recover financially from the havoc wrecked by by our wicked and thieving banks and government officials.

Goodluck Jonathan is not the messiah to rescue Naija in anything. He's only in office to take care of his pocket and his associates. Nigerian govt business is personal business for those that have the reigns of power. Goodluck Jonathan is corrupt, Babangida and the rest of em are rotten. Should GEJ win the election, he will do Naija financially more than yardua or Abacha did Nigeria.

Since independence the amount looted from Nigeria by Nigerian govt officials is over £500 Billion. We could have been as rich as England of japan. My mum told me that there was a time Nigeria currency exchanged ad same rate as British £. But today, ..,, ••• cant be bothered to bring out calculator ••• today,,, it's probably N1,000,000 or N800,000,00 to a £.

    Lol.

  13. @ Annoy 7.22pm, Obviously Linda is not Praising the man, Infact she is doing the other. You think the Fayose man, Ex Governor whom if am right was impeached for looting funds of Ekiti state. I commend Linda for posting it. Nigerians, are we still gonna be silent and watch our leaders squander our resources on themselves and their family. It is time for a revolution, Jonathan I dont think would make any difference, he is still surrounded by the same rogues. A revolution first then who ever is voted in knows he has a nation to answer to.

its true that Lagos is a very expensive ghetto, BUT....
its very ignorant to say there are no roads, water, electricity (sorta), no jobs, etc...
Lagos is the financial capital of Nigeria and possible the biggest hub of all of West Africa. look at Lagos; a very small state with a massive amount of people. more than 2,000 people per square mile. anyway sha, of course the competition is there, as there will ALWAYS be more people than jobs.
the sad thing about it is that people are paying all this money to live in Lagos Island, VI, Ikoyi/Banana, & Lekki when Lagos (and Nigeria as a whole)still has no CONSTANT electricity. now why on Earth should someone pay $5 million to live in a little community that would still lack most of the basic necessities? do you know what most people in the UK or US would do with money like that? the type of neighborhoods they could afford to live in with that kind of money? those good neighborhoods in Lagos with good roads should NOT be a luxury in Nigeria! (its such a shame). EVERY citizen in Nigeria should have access to those "luxuries" that the upper-class get to enjoy. even in an american ghetto, they still have the basic necessities of life. running water, sewage, and most importantly, electricity.
there is no reason on Earth why someone should pay $5million for something that is supposed to be very common and basic.
I can't believe its 2011 already and Nigeria has barely made any progress.
SMH. we can all just continue to pray
**unless we start a radical movement like Egypt. hahaha lol
