"My World Cup experience" Femi Kuti

"They called me to come and play, I said I was not going because I didn't know what I would be doing at a football event. I wanted to sit at home and watch football and the opening ceremony. I didn't want to participate but they kept insisting. And I said, what song would I be playing? They said bang bang bang. I said that's over 12yrs, but fortunately the song is still very popular in Africa and the world. I did not know I was still popular in South Africa until I got to the stadium.  Words alone cannot describe how I felt; all the emotions. We had about 90, 000 people in the stadium, we had at least a billion people watching all over the world, that's the biggest crowd and audience anybody can play for. To just be on stage for two minutes and it was successful, which connotes the positive side of not just Nigeria, but Africa." Femi Kuti speaks with Encomium mag on his World Cup experience.

Nigeria's lawmakers are the highest paid in Nigeria

Did you know that the National Assembly members are probably the highest paid lawmakers in the world?

Here's proof.
1. Senate President - David Mark, gets an unbudgeted N250million every four months. This is in addition to his N45, 581 million annual salary.
2. Deputy Sen. Pres. - Ike Ekweremadu, pockets N15million every four months. This is in addition to his N41, 795million annual salary.
3. Other principal officers of the senate like - Majority/minority leaders and their deputies, Chief whip etc collect the sum of N78million every four months.
4. The remaining senators get N45million aside N35, 158 annual salaries.

These facts came to light recently when some Senators who feel short changed by the leadership of the Senate cried out that their quarterly unbudgeted  allowance of N45million should be increased to N95million.

SMH! These thieves people forget that after all said and done, when we leave this earth, we leave with nothing, absolutely NOTHING! Whatever you can't take with you when you die is not worth dying for. We should think more of the legacy we leave behind. I guess this is what they want us to remember them for.
Sad!
God is such a merciful God.

Condom with 'Teeth' Designed to Catch Rapists

A female condom with jagged “teeth” that grips a man’s penis is the latest device developed to catch rapists in South Africa, CNN reported Sunday.

South African Dr. Sonnet Ehlers is distributing the condom — called Rape-aXe — for free during the World Cup, in a country with one of the worst rape rates in the world.

The condom is inserted by women like a tampon and its jagged teeth-like hooks inside attach to a man’s penis during intercourse. Once it grabs hold, only a doctor can remove it. Ehlers hoped this will help authorities to catch offenders.

A condom that grips the penis? I'm laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes...lmao. This doctor has yawered o! But I love, love, love, love the idea...my only problem with this is, if a rapist is stuck inside of a woman and can't remove himself, he will probably beat the shit out of the woman before the police arrive. BTW, who will call the police? They're both stuck for goodness sake...Lmao..
Still love the idea sha

'Greek player swore at me' - Sani Kaita

"The guy (the Greece player) hit the ball on my body (stomach) and abused me, saying some very unprintable things. That really got me very angry. That is why I reacted like that to him. But that was a big mistake by me and I will remember for a long time. I cannot stop apologizing to all Nigerians for making this costly mistake. I am very sorry and I pray that we win our next game (against South Korea) to qualify for the next round, where I hope to redeem my image with a good performance if I'm picked. I couldn't sleep all night thinking about what my action has cost my country, but I hope that Insa Allah (by the grace of God) we will win our next game and thereafter I promise to put my life down on the pitch to ensure we go very far in this competition." Kaita told MTNFootball.com

Alright, alright, we forgive you Sani. Go and sin no more...:-)

"Don't support the gays" Malawi president

Malawi president and Africa Union Chairman, Bingu wa Mutharika, is speaking out, saying donors to the country should focus on children's rights instead of fighting for gay rights.

During the African Child commemoration, Mutharika said:
“The role of protecting children is for everyone. I want religious leaders and civil society groups to speak on the rights of children, not a man marrying a man. Donors should stop assisting confused people (gays). Why fight for gay rights instead of children’s rights?”*

Well...I still don't think anyone should be sentenced to 14yrs in prison because of their sexual preference. There are worst offences....
