Shakira's Waka Waka makes history

Shakira’s song, Waka Waka (It's Time For Africa) has become the best-selling World Cup song in history.

According to the numbers, Waka Waka managed to sell over two million sigles after being released.
It also became a viral sensation.
The video on YouTube has become the #4 most watched YouTube clip of all time! It’s also the #3 most viewed music video of all time!

Waka Waka may have been made popular by Shakira and Freshlyground but the song has been around since 1986. The orininal song is titled "Tsamina Zangaléwa." by a 1986 Cameroon Band, Golden Sounds

  1. This song isn't originally Shakira's. I'm Cameroonian and this song was originally written and sang by a Cameroonian band...so sad that they don't get recognized, and she gets all the credit.

  2. That's not true first Anonymous she recognize it herself.
And Linda the name groupe is Zangalewa (they changed it even before the song was released in 1986)like the song title.
Tsamina doesn't mean anything in the original it is Zamina.

  5. I can't lie, she brought a new twist to the song and I love her version as well as the original, but I think she's getting all the credit for someone else's original work. I don't see her recognising the original artists, Les groupe Zangalewa. The youtube video link below further proves that.
