David Beckham's ruptured Achilles tendon has been repaired - but the footballer will not recover in time for the World Cup, his surgeon says.
The ex-Manchester United player's foot will be in a cast for around six to eight weeks, after which he can start "more vigorous" physiotherapy.
"I am upset but want to thank everyone for their messages of support," he wrote. "I hope to make a swift and full recovery. Thanks, David."

Poor guy. He must be devastated.
linda are you f****ing kidding me???? not u tooooo ... did u really say "poor guy" puh-leeze i get enough of this BS from british press. if beckham can't play in this world cup he'll find something to occupy his time. he always has. after posing almost naked on bill boards he just might try out acting in a hollywood flick. whatever the case, i am so not feeling all this publicity on one leg and how he's limping about. boo hoo!
ReplyDeleteHe is going to be missed. A critical player in the England side.
ReplyDeletei don't think he should worry. England are always disappoints in the world cup. the only thing he'd miss are the group matches and the usual leaving before time.
