  2. Same here... I know no one apart from Dora...

  3. i know the first woman...she was transport minister or minister of something that has to do with roads. instead of repairing the roads, she was always on tv blowing big big grammar with a very polished nigerian accent. looking at the state of the roads, i doubt she made that much impact.
overall, the list is the same ol' same ol'. just time for new people to "come and eat."

  4. Linda I thought U where not only entertainment aware, how would you say U know only Dora Akunyili on that list? There are about 12 returning ministers on that list. There are about 5 known technocrats on the list as well i.e.segun agangan of goldman sachs and emmanuel iheanacho of genesis shipping and integrated oil and gas.I'm still trying to understand the inclusion of Mrs Anenih and Alhaji Murtala Yar Adua though.would get back to youu on that.Take care.....Vickolo Safequest.

  5. I resonate the first part of Vickolo's note. Linda please read more of the newspapers to become more aware and to help you to broaden your horizon. So you don't know Odein Ajumogobia? He's one of Nigeria's finest lawyers!

  6. @vickolo and anon...apart from Dora, I dont know anyone else on that list. never even heard of them...i know a lot of people but none on that list. shud I apologise?

  7. Hmmn still trying to figure out why Tony Anenih's wife is on the list. No Linda you shouldn't apologise for not knowing anyone other that Dora Akunyili, na small small persin dey learn.

  8. yes please apologies will be accepted.Sure U understand the power of information not just entertainment information. Some young folks look up to ur blog and u as well so when u play pure ignorant of people and facts it sure aint right.Waiting for the apologies.lol

  9. Maybe if you take out that "I don't know anyone else apart from Dora," bit you'll sound a bit bright!! No you don't need to apologise for not knowing them. I live in London and i know/know of these people. You live in Lagos and you didn't know Ajumogobia was the Minister of State for Energy or even that Usman was a former Finance Minister. Also, re-Ajumogobia, if you can name the top ten law firms in Nigeria and not name his firm then this may be a learning curve for you!!!

  10. @6:28...i'm not that bright...u shud know that by now :-)

@Vickolo...sweetie, I dont know anyone else on that list apart from Dora. U want me to write that again?

  12. please can we stop attacking Linda for not knowing them. If they were at least doing their jobs and making significant changes, people would go out of their way to know who they were. but they're just there filling their pot bellies with looted funds and you say we should sit down and be cramming their names??? i only learn things that are worth learning. Linda, please don't apologize. knowing their names is not going to add to the GDP of this country nor will it do anybody any good. Only learn names that are worth learning. not random recycled names

  13. Girl friend, e bi like ay your resume no come reach GJ on time, hence your missing name. I would have liked to ee you on the lit. it would have given the list and public the much needed jolt:)

  14. why should she know, them aint they all useless abeg go rest all of una

  15. Please don't blame Linda for not knowing the existing Ministers. They were not functioning in their fields that why they were not popular. All they did was embezzle our money to send their Irresponsible kids abroad.God will Judge all of them

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm not going to chastise Linda for not knowing them, and i'm also not about to justify her either. Some people have pointed out that its because the so-called ministers are not functioning but that is just a lazy excuse. She should still make the effort to be politically aware. Even reading a newspaper a week will not be bad. I stay in the UK and also know people who haven't being back home in years but we still make it a point to ensure we are kept up to date on the political happenings.

  17. am sure what linda said is not in the literal sense...but some others like ajumogobia, aganga and iheanacho are okay too

  18. Like Linda, I don’t know most of the peeps on this list, and why should I? I am not particularly inspired, but like most 9ja folks, I am willing to give this man his chance. It’s now down to him to either blow it or go down in history as the greatest leader we ever had. It’s his call!

  19. Is dt guy tryin 2 let us kno he knws 2 many ppl or dt he lives abroad cos he kips mentionin 'i live in london...' lol

    ReplyDelete
  20. No, you do not have to apologize for not knowing anyone on the list apart from Prof. Akunyili BUT a woman of your calibre :) should try to be more aware of current affairs in your country.

    ReplyDelete
  21. LOL @ Linda "I'm not that bright", that seriously cracked me up!!! Bet the guy did not grab the sarcasm if his comments are anything to by.

But let's cut the crap, why are people acting politically-righteous? Face the fact, look around you, who cares??? And if it bothers u, as it should, do something about it instead of acting like its a travesty of knowledge (for lack of a better phrase) and no one is guiltless but you.

  22. @Lola...a woman of my caliber? I'm honored. Talking about current affairs...I am sure u read a lot about what's going on in the Nigerian political scene on this blog. i just dont do entertainment...i also do current affairs. if u havent noticed, check out my older posts.

I go to at least five online newspapers whenever i'm online...so I am very aware.

I know that Chief Ebitemi Banigo was once Minister of science and tech. i know Graham Douglas was once minister for culture and tourism. i know that kema chikwe was once minister of aviation... i don't know those who occupy those positions now...because really, whats there to know?

And don't get me wrong, i have heard of some of these names but it's not the same as knowing them...u understand?

    I rest my case.

  23. It's great that you know all these things. It's just that by repeating that you don't know certain people it makes it sound as if you're ignorant when you're clearly not ;)

Good job with your blog, I know it's not just entertainment and I appreciate that.
