Edo female deportees from Libya return with unwanted pregnancies.

Out of the over 1, 000 Edo State indigenes who were recently deported from Libya last month, no fewer than 50 of them are pregnant. Investigations have revealed that the deportees were languishing in various prisons in Libya before the federal government in collaboration with some other agencies, fought frantically to ensure their release and subsequent deportation of the Edo indigenes.

It was learnt that these girls were either impregnated by Libyan security operatives or prison officials. These unfortunate Nigerians had left the shores of the country to Libya to secure passage to European countries like Spain and Italy.
Sad!

  1. I find this very hard to believe. I'm from Benin and I know what Edo girls go to Spain and Italy to do. They trespassed through Libya and they got deported. It's good. Let them come back home instead of prostituting in Europe.

i'm sure they were doing it for money with the Libyan security too. It's God's way of telling them to clean up themselves. Stop trying to make them sound innocent Linda. They were after a quick buck! They go to sell our dignity and reputation in europe, let them stay at home jare!

  5. It is a shame that people have to sell their dignity in order to make ends meet, I really can't blame these girls, it does not matter if they are from Edo State, Bayelsa, Ogun or any other part of Nigeria, it is the people that destroyed Nigeria who should be taking the blame. I am sure these girls are willing to work legitimately, in the absence of work they resorted to this.

  6. Lets be honest, we all know that the acts this girls go abroad to do are abominable, but the truth of the matter lies in the fact that we have a country in Nigeria that is not making any effort to stem this. There is no hope, no sustainable jobs, poverty is in abundance and there seem to be no hint or offing of a chance of survival. Desperate times usually calls for desperate measures. None of us is innocent, when anybody is pushed and cornered to the wall, we are all capable of actions we would never have contemplated. Nigeria has failed a lot of people, especially the less priviledged. Under different circumstance, we should have had a country that would encourage people to go to school (free education) or encourage acquisition of skills and provide rewarding jobs or a platform for companies to provide this jobs.

Until changes occur, this is just going to be another of the many perennial problems that overwhelm this country.

  7. we can pity protesters who got were raped but this isn't a case... the had commodities for sale and though they never got to their planned markets. they sold those all the same.what are they home for? we don't need more of those back home...we already have enough on our streets.as for hoe they got pregnant, it would be remembered that i said they never arrived at the right market... prison officials don't sell condoms, they just do...maybe the girls should have used hangers, after all they're stupid enough....though i admit, some of those faces didn't make that trip by their own will.some were forced.i pity these set...

  9. In fact, I wonder why you pity these people. Come to Italy here and see their life style, infact I sometimes do not want to board a bus I see them in. it is the business of the edo pple. if they like it or not those ones caught are just unfurtunate.it is not poverty but selfishness, is it also poverty that brought a major general wife from benin to come and sell her body in napoli. And now the federal government has brought their oba son to be the ambassador so they can plan and execute the system effectively. All these you see are just rehearsals

  10. This is just sad...But i really blame Nigerian government for all these...Because if they can leave bribe, greed and selfishness alone to take the resources and build a better country for the youths..things wont be like this and also libya government officials with die hard for taking advantage of the girls...Regardless of what they did or doing...sad!!!

  11. Who is the anonymous making excuses for prostitution? How very unreasonable. So that means when the economy is bad everyone should either carry a gun and start stealing and shooting or prostituting..........pls think again and if you cant, just shut up

  12. Anonymous 4:30am u are so senseless...and this is all about people's opinion, for the fact that i do not agree or see things the way you do should make you shut up and think again too....Am trying to say the main reason for prostitutes is because of no available resources in Nigeria..Please keep ur opinion to urself and let others do the same too..IDIOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!
