More Future Award News
TFA National Tour Moves to Abuja! The much-talked-about National Tour for The Future Awards 2009 has kicked off! Following the spectacular launch of the Awards at a media and VIP event in Lagos, and the unveil of the “i am the future” campaign, the organizers are going around the country to sensitize youths from every corner and at the grassroots about nation building and the country’s future, as well as making sure that nominations for this year’s edition reflect even more the diversity and positive complexity of the Nigerian nation. It would be recalled that The Future.. Awards broke new grounds last year when three of its major winners out of the 15 overall came from the North, and were young Nigerians not based in Lagos. Those winners were Abdulkareem Baba Aminu (Journalist of the Year), ‘Mak Kusare (Screen Producer of the Year) and Ali Nuhu (Actor of the Year). The national roadshows will begin in Abuja and are billed to spread through Enugu, Ibadan, Lagos, Benin and Jos. The Abuja Roadshow, which is billed as a ‘town hall meeting’ where attendees will be able to ask any and every question about the awards, is billed to hold at Nu Rivaz, Adetokunbo Ademola Way, by Amigos Plaza, Wuse 2 at 5pm. It is being held in conjunction with Chocolate City and Cocktails In & Out. Unlike other pre-events of The Future.. Awards, this event is open to the public, though confirmation must be made to 07028101959. It will be recalled that nominations for The Future Awards 2009 opened at 12 midnight on the 1st of October and have been announced to close on the 31st of October 2008. Nominations are via the website http://www.thefuturenigeria.com/.

Finally...If you don't want to be a little sad, don't read this...but you've probably read worse, so check it out...http://www.knbc.com/news/17635113/detail.html.

  3. Linda, I love your blog but have a piece of advice for you. Take off the Yomi casual photo showing the shirt with the Dior Logo. It could get the person sued o! These designers are no longer joking with cheap imitations!

  5. @anonymous 4.46

What do you expect Nigeria's policemen to do? Are they well equipped? Are they well trained? Are the ready to work? Do you think they are people's friend or robbers' friend? Do you think they are interested in people's welfare or N20 at checkpoints?

Until you answer these questions I have no comment.

  8. Humm thats sad ooo.... i read the enws article, but come to think of it,. anon, 5:56pm if you are nigerian, don't you think you should be more concerend with the arm robbery incidences becoming rampant in nigeria, almost everyone is becoming a victim- children, elderly, rather than comparing it to California .... It really does not make sense.
But i pray the bankers soul rest in peace....

  11. Helllloo.........Yomi Casual! You mean the guy actually designed a CD top abi na shirt. LMAO!!!! I certainly won't be doing business with the so called Yomi the designer,as he clearly hasn't got a clue about what it means to be a designer, otherwise he'd know better. Whatever happened to creating unique pieces? I thought that was one of the things amongst others that makes one a designer. It clearly means something else to Yomi. Lol!
