Naija Entertainment Gists + Nigeria-Ghana Business Summit

Kate Henshaw Nuttall, Modenine join Soundcity TV as presenters: Nollywood top actress Kate Henshaw Nuttall and one of Naija's best rap MC's modenine have joined Naija's only 24 hours Music TV station, Soundcity, as presenters. Kate presents a segment called 'City Of Divas' where they play a variety of music videos from female artistes, while Modenine is getting ready to present a segment called 'Who Gat The Rhymes'

Also rapper 2shot and Rhythm 93.7 radio presenter turned rapper Kemistry, now present MTV Base on STV. I particularly find the duo presenting the one hour programme unnecessary and annoying. STV, you dont need presenters for MTV Base. I hope someone from there reads this...

Charly Boy threatens to sue NMA co-ordinator Tony Okoroji
Former Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) president, Mr Charles Oputa, aka, Charly boy has threatened to sue the man behind the Nigerian Music Awards Tony Okoroji on the ground that the latter has diverted the NMA to his own personal property. Okoroji has since shrugged off the claim insisting that Charly boy and his co-horts are merely trying to divert his attention from the award the whole country is looking forward to. The Nigerian Music Award is scheduled to hold May 19th at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Police stop Nike Osinowo
Rumour has it that last week, policemen manning a checkpoint on the road that leads to the home of one of Nigeria's most celebrated women, Chief Nike Osinowo-Soleye, at Magodo GRA, stopped and searched her black benz jeep. The search of her car was said to have taken some minutes while she stood aside calmly, watching. It was obvious that the policemen didn't know who she was...it must be great being Genevieve Nnaji. No policeman will stop that girl...they'll only wink or ask for an autograph when they see her...

Rugged Man acquires a brand new Nissan Morano jeep.
It seems there's a battle in the entertainment industry in Naija amongst its players as they try to outshine one another in material possessions, especially cars. Rugged man has joined the list of jeep owners. On May 10th 2007, he took delivery of a brand new Nissan Morano jeep. He replaced his Honda IV-Tech for the Morano jeep. The car crase by our Naija entertainers is...fill in the gap!

Shade Okoya falls ill, postpones birthday party
Softsell magazines in Nigeria are reporting that Shade Okoya, the young and beautiful wife of Eleganza boss Chief Rasaq Okoya has fallen ill and has been flown abroad to receive treatment thus postponing the superlative birthday party her billionaire husband was preparing for her. The preparation for the event had reached a feverish pitch as invitation cards had been sent out to virtually all the notable society personalities in Naija. The party was scheduled to take place on Saturday April 8th at the Okoya family home in Ajah. But a few days to the party, it was cancelled. Rasaq Okoya is said to have accompanied his young wife abroad to receive medical treatment and are both expected to be back by the end of the month if her condition improves. Get well soon Shade!
Also, handsome L'uomo and Waka Restaurant boss Kennedy Alogaga is getting ready to marry his Kaduna born model girlfriend Bikuro Dennis. Their wedding is on Saturday May 26th 2007 in the bride's home of Kaduna. Ken's bachelor's eve is slated for the 19th of May at his Waka Restaurant and Bar on Victoria Island.
To other news, President Obasanjo is said to be getting ready to hand over to Yar'adua come May 29th. It's being speculated that the president has bought over 50 Peugeot 607 cars worth almost a billion Naira to hand over to Nigeria's next president. The cars are said to be in the presidential car pool waiting...

  5. Why would Obasanjo buy 50 Peugeot 607 cars worth almost a billion Naira to hand over to Nigeria's next president? Can't Yar'Adua make the car purchase himself if the need arises...or is this a facade in doling out government largasse to wives, cuncubines and kiss-ass apparatchiks?!
Anywayz, this is same 'ole same 'ole. We all know that Yar’Adua's presidency is borne out of illegality and his regime will be a charade; the continued entrenchment of the wanton destruction of the Nigerian social, economic and political lives!
