The award-winning Kounandi is that rarest of films – a film about African women by an African woman. It is the first major film by young Burkinabe director Apolline TraorĂ© and was produced by celebrated director Idrissa Ouedraogo. The film, set in simpler, pre-colonial village society, is told in the style of folktales. Kounandi is an adult fairy tale about love and the sacrifices it sometimes asks of us, but it also addresses social conflict and prejudices.Well, these are some of the other things happening in other parts of Africa that I think you all should know about. It took me two hours to get this info for y'all, so blow me kisses in appreciation. Kisses back!!! Ciao!
