If a wife does to me, what Aisha Buhari did she will return to her parent’s house – Senator Owie

Reacting to Aisha Buhari's controversial BBC interview, former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie today said if his wife went public to criticize him the way Aisha Buhari did to her husband, in her BBC Hausa interview, he would send her packing from his house. In an interview with Vanguard, Owie said although what Aisha Buhari said was right, it could have been said in the bedroom when she had some private time with her husband.


“Aisha is right in criticism of President Buhari’s appointments, but the medium she adopted is very wrong. Such advice from a wife to a husband should be given at Bed time and not to the hearing of anybody. If a wife does that to me, the woman will return to her parent’s house within 24 hours of that statement. A Benin Parable says- Only one’s enemy that will advise one in the presence of The Oba in council.”he said

    So mr Owie how do you know Aisha has not been advising Buhari in private with out result before she decided to go public? In one of my writeups during the year, I did appeal to Buhari's family members to try and tell him the truth even if his advisers decide to deceive him for their personal benefits. I said that his failure would bring shame to the entire family for long after his tenure and his success would also bring glory to his family. Am happy that his family especially the wife is telling him as it is, his children need to also speak up and guide their father to do the right thing and create positive history for himself and his unborn generation.To lock up an innocent Nnamdi Kanu for asking for the freedom of his people for exactly one year today in disregard of competent court orders is not the way to go, killing IPOB protesters and raping women in Biafraland will harden people instead. Killing shia muslims and christians has been the hallmark of this administration therefore Buhari needs to hear the truth from his own family members and for this, I respect and commend Aisha. You have exonerated yourself from blame by association in the presence of man and God. Keep telling him the truth and never relent.
