Obama tells Orlando victims' families that he can't promise there'll be no more attacks or violence

U.S President Barack Obama has told the families of the people that were killed in the Orlando gay club massacre that due to government policies on gun acquisition and control, he can't assure the grieving families that death or killing of this nature won't occur again.

Obama said on Thursday that grief-filled parents in Orlando pleaded with him to take steps to prevent the kind of gun violence that took their children's lives but he acknowledged, exasperatedly, that he could offer them few promises.
"Our politics have conspired to make it as easy as possible for a terrorist or even just a disturbed individual to buy extraordinarily powerful weapons, and they can do so legally,"
Obama also spoke about how he felt after meeting with families who lost loved ones in the Orlando nightclub shooting:
"I held and hugged grieving family members and parents and they asked, 'Why does this keep happening?' And they pleaded that we do more to stop the carnage,They don't care about the politics. Neither do I."
We can't anticipate or catch every single deranged person that may wish to do harm to his neighbours or his friends or co-workers or strangers," Obama said. "Unfortunately, our politics have conspired to make it as easy as possible for a terrorist or just a disturbed individual like those in Aurora and Newtown to buy extraordinarily powerful weapons and they can do so legally. Those who defend the easy accessibility of assault weapons should meet these families,"
"If you have lone wolf attacks like this, hatched in the minds of a disturbed person, then we're going to have to take different steps in order to prevent something like this from happening," Obama continued.
"If there was ever a moment for all of us to reflect and reaffirm our most basic beliefs that everybody counts and everybody has dignity, now's the time. It's a good time for all of to us reflect on how we treat each other and to insist on respect and equality for every human being."

I quite understand his point of view, on many occassions he has pushed for gun control, but the politicians objected to that. Guns are with many people that ought not to be carrying guns. Its quite an unfortunate situation they've found themselves.

President Buhari told parents of the abducted Chibok girls he has no credible intel on their location and the whole country criticise him for that. True leaders say the truth even if it is unpopular. Thank you Obama
