What do you do when the system fails you?

Read about Soni Irabor's Youth Empowerment Forum below...
I did my best. I went to school, got a degree, served my country for a year and finally qualified as a job seeker. I spent over a week crafting the perfect resume, filled with all my achievements. I wrote the perfect cover letter that Google guaranteed would stand me out from other job seekers.

I gave my CV to everyone I knew but they kept posting me. So I went to the companies myself and submitted my CV but I never heard from them. Career fora replaced my parties until I started getting called for interviews but most of them were scams and the ones that were not, wanted me to be “a fresh graduate with a minimum of three years’ work experience”.

I wondered if they knew I studied Marketing not Magic. Sitting at home was doing me no good so I decided to give myself an edge by going to further my studies. One degree, Two Masters and Three years later, I still have no job. This is the reality of an average Nigerian job seeker. In the pursuit of degrees, you forget to acquire practical skills that will set you apart from your peers and help you get the job of your dreams or even set up your own business.

The good news is you can avoid this. It is not too early and never too late for you to take control of your life. Ruyi Communications Limited (RUYICOM), an Integrated Marketing Communications Company has organized the SiLYouth Empowerment Forum (SIYEF) entitled “The Nigerian Youth: Bridging the Skills Gap” where you can gain knowledge from experienced and successful entrepreneurs in the society.

On the 2nd of April, 2016, 5000 enterprising youth between the ages of 18 and 40, will have the opportunity to interact with successful people like Larry Osai, Linda Ikeji and the host, Soni Irabor, who will enlighten participants on the secret to their sucess and challenges they encountered along the way. With the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria, this forum is designed to bridge the skills gap between the budding youth and the labour force.

The event will create networking opportunities between participants and resource persons. Participation is by online registration on a first come, first serve basis with prizes for the first 200 accredited participants. Other amazing prizes are start-up Funds for the 10 Best Business Plans Sign up now and watch yourself go from participant to guest.
