INEC recruits over 25,000 officials for electoral re-run in Rivers state

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recruited the services of 24,930 adhoc staff, 379 collation officers and 37 returning officers for the Rivers state electoral re-runs.

INEC is conducting a re-run election in three senatorial districts, 12 federal constituencies and 22 state constituencies on Saturday, March 19, in compliance with the appeal tribunal which nullified the polls which took place previously.
The Nigeria Police has also deployed over 6,000 personnel to the State ahead of the re-run election to avoid any disorderliness and ensure the election is free and fair.
