"I was so sure he 'd not survive. I didn't want him to die without a name, so I named him Hope" Anja writes on boy branded a witch

Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven who rescued the little boy left for dead after he was branded a witch in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, shared this touching post on Facebook.
"The day I carried this sweet little boy in my arms for the very first time I was so sure he would not survive. Every breath he took was a struggle and I did not want him to die without a name, without dignity, so I named him Hope.

Hope to me is a special name. Not only the meaning of Hope, but what it stands for. Many years ago I got the name HOPE tattooed on my fingers because to me it means: Help One Person Everyday. (HOPE)"
In more good news, a police officer in Norway, Bjorn Druglimo was moved to tears after he heard the story of Hope. He started collecting football shirts to give to "The Miracle Boy" and other children in the orphanage, including the staff.

  41. This is quite touching! I mean we can all imagine how many people can be saved and their lives change for the better if majority of people could make the kind of decision that Anja made. The destiny of this boy Hope is so bright. Thunder is going to blast anybody or group of people that would come out later in the future to claim they are related to this boy.

  51. This is very rampant in Akwa Ibom, had Godswill Akpabio not helped every growing stubborn child would have been tagged 'witch'. Seriously those people need to change their mentality.
